Europe mixed in premarket ahead of data7 Dec 2020 06:55
Equities in Europe traded mixed in the premarket on Monday ahead of the economic data that is to be released later in the day. Germany is to unveil its latest results in industrial production, the United Kingdom in house prices, and the European Union in consumer confidence. Meanwhile, London and Brussels reportedly presented differing views on the progress of their talks over their post-Brexit relationship, with Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin saying they were on a "knife-edge."
The DAX traded 0.37% lower at 7:33 am CET. At the same time, the CAC 40 dropped by 0.37%. On the other hand, the FTSE 100 rose by 0.12%.
The euro stood flat against the dollar, selling for $1.21287 at 7:28 am CET. A minute later, the pound sterling lost 0.21% to the United States' currency, exchanging hands for $1.34102.
