European shares moved lower during premarket trading on Thursday as fears over more shutdowns offset optimism surrounding coronavirus vaccines. Across Europe, countries continued to struggle to keep the pandemic in check, while in the United States, the growing number of cases led to the tightening of measures in states like California, New York, and Ohio.
The DAX dipped 0.73% at 7:30 am CET, while the FTSE 100 lost 0.82%. The CAC 40 was down 0.57% in Paris. The euro declined 0.03% against the dollar at 7:35 am CET, buying 1.18492. At the same time, the pound fell 0.28% versus the greenback, to go for 1.32322.
