Some interesting discussion and ideas discussing the big aims of the company and its backers this weekend, but I love the way the board goes from how sclp can achieve success - two
different routes, both good - and then has someone start a discussion about how it could be broken up at a huge loss when it goes bust! I'm all for considering options, but...
Also, it seems the effect of any possible breach of the 30 percent threshold by Redmile needs to be put into perspective. This threshold would trigger a mandatory offer for the company - I would be very interested to see what figure was proposed - but some posters here seem to abbreviate it to read 'if Redmile hit 30 percent then they will buy the company.' A grossly inaccurate and highly unlikely oversimplification. It would need an overwhelming majority of shareholder to support it, and given the well founded optimistic sentiment there is now, it would need to be a VERY generous offer imo. So don't fall for the twisters and doomies folks, Aim Bigger. You could find your multiples going from 1 to 4. Or more.
