Make your mind up knowlesi - on the one hand 'I don't believe we should just let these type of statements pass without challenging them.' And on the other hand you complain when pulled up and say '.... any counter opinion is immediately attacked.'

Knowlesi - did you mean ‘accept’ rather than ‘except’? Just wondered because it makes quite a difference to what you appear to be trying to say.

Mind you, what would the feeling have been 12 months ago if he'd said 'we should have a market cap around 100 million with 50 odd million in the bank and be able to fund trials with a major US backer.' The reaction to that would have been interesting!

I broke with a long held tradition and had a look at the 'other' board, as there is a lot of sensible and informed discussion around these days and I wondered if by chance there was something worth gleaning from there. Agreed C7, an excellent post from Chester. Remember the constant complaints that the company should have raised one big lump sum years ago to drive it forward ? Well now the science is in place they have done it with a single specialist backer at a much more pivotal stage, and what we get? More worst case scenario stuff from the same quarters. Vulpes and Redmile (and oversubscribing shareholders) have put up, maybe now is the time for the nitpickers to shut up and come back in a year or two and see what has developed.

Can't provide an answer either, obviously nobody knows so it is just theorising but IMO to put two increasingly large fundings into Scancell in a short space of time makes me think it could portend something very significant in the shorter term as well as the longer term. RM certainly aren't going to stump up the basic running costs for the next however may years on a wing and a prayer. Just one theory that crossed my mind - if the company wanted funds to get solid money for (say) Modi-1 and Covidity trials, it would put them in a position where a company wanting to sign up an avidimab deal would have them over a barrel in terms of price and time, and the price agreed for the first avidimab deal would then set a benchmark for any second or subsequent deal - Remember CH talking outline figures for deals and saying they didn't relate to specific figures for Avidimab, just ballpark numbers - Avidimab is new and unique, so what is its first deal value?
Having such a huge sum in the bank (40 percent of the mcap) as they do now means a far stronger bargaining position for Avidimab (possibly the closest commercial deal to expect) and to be in such a bargaining position means a much more significant return on that one aspect of the science. Just one possible idea of many, but it doesn't matter how many billions RM manage, no successful investment group put so much as a penny into something that isn't properly assessed and likely to make a good return, that is after all how you get to be a world leader in pharma investment, and nobody is doubting the status of RM. Whatever the next step or steps, IMO we should not underestimate the significance of the RM involvement.

More likely it will be in keeping with the virtual nature of the meeting - virtual biscuits.

The AGM hasn't been announced yet. From Monday's RNS - 'A circular will be sent to Shareholders containing details of the Capital Raise and to convene a General Meeting at which these approvals will be sought and which will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday 29 October 2020 at the offices of Scancell Holdings plc.'
The 29th is just for approval of the matters from Monday's announcement.

Still shown as a member so presumably just a matter of time.
