You were absolutely right to say you can't predict the future, and even good enough to illustrate it prolifically and continually. In many ways it's a shame so many of your posts were removed by admin because they breached their rules, it would have been good for any new posters to have seen them to get a true measure of you. Anyway, maybe it is time for you to take a back seat and try to learn a little about Scancell and show some humility. I'll leave it there - there are more exciting things than your fiction to read on this board from now on.

I think everyone who was properly researched here knew how long a haul it could be, but the developments over the last few days show that long term faith is likely to be well rewarded - and while technically it is 'only' Covidity, it is also validation of SCIB1 and Avidimab, all being well obviously. One of the gripes from some has always been lack of publicity, but the consistent thing has been that if they have nothing significant to say, then they keep schtum. As I say, sensible thorough research and long term faith were always the key. I remember one poster who said when Covidity was announced "Scancell have nothing to do with Covid, influenza or infectious diseases - why would an early stage oncology company be impacted by money flowing into Covid ? Clutching at straws springs to mind..."

Very true botski, there are a lot of variables but then there is a lot of pressure on bigger pharma to keep the science momentum rolling. Early partner ING has as many points in its favour as late partnering so could be either. They may wait for trial results, but Scancell have the advantage of scib1 trial results already in the bag from the same platform. Sit back, relax, and see where it goes I suggest. Now, time for a large gin I think.

Of course if there were no government involvement it would mean the door would then be open for the moaners to say 'why didn't they back it.' Nomlungu can moan successfully either way, but I'm very happy we haven't got the opposition running the show. Now that would have been a disaster of phenomenal proportions.

I would have thought it is politically in the Government's interests to be seen to be actively backing the more innovative science - then they can say 'we contributed to this cutting edge science.'

As I said before, at the moment they are trying to stem the worst of the current flow, and a desperate game of catch-up is starting. While I'd rather it didn't have to happen, I'm happy there is science like Scancell's being looked at by government sources - the 2.7 million being being proof of that. (Other vaccine developers are available, but not with Scancell's patents...)

Well David Evans was reported to have bought a million shares here around 7p, so given that itbing more than outside ii investment has broadly doubled his stake, I imagine his enthusiasm for the science remains as strong.

I think that politically the race to get a vaccine, ANY vaccine that was reasonably effective was imperative, hence throwing the kitchen sink at Oxford's efforts - and to be fair, it has done what they wanted. But now that the Oxford one and its peers are up and running it has only bought a load of space while the vaccine mutates and the 2nd generation vaccines get developed. I think gen2 vaccines will become the hot topic in a month or two when virus mutations start to get more adept at dodging the first generation of protection. Things may well hot up in coming months. We shall see.

THE RNS from August on the funding says 'to initiate a Phase 1 trial', and CH says in it 'This funding will allow us to accelerate progress towards our planned Phase 1 clinical trial, COVIDITY.'
So yes, looks like that funding is to speed progress towards P1 trial, so more could be expected ahead of anything in the clinic.

Someone must like them to hand out the better part of 3 million quid of taxpayer's money.
