There has often been a divide between 'buying shares in the hope of making money' versus 'buying shares to help in the fight against cancer.' Well I have to say that I am delighted at the prospect of my sclp shares making me richer, but when I read the post on the Macmillan blog I felt so unbelievably happy for the hope the latest scan has given the patient - and any one of us could be the next one of course. I think the two go hand in hand, but knowledge that there may be a cure for this illness is actually worth more than money can buy. I would write more, but have to go and sack the undergardener for being scruffy.

They'll release any news when it's properly organised and complete - if that means a wait, then fair enough. An early Christmas present would be great, but the knowledge of how it's going so far is very reassuring.

Further thoughts about whether or not there will be an RNS after the Clatterbridge lady gets her results - looking again at the criteria to qualify as 'partial response', as previously mentioned this means simply 'more than 30 percent.' So unless the tumour has grown back and is less than 30 percent smaller than its original size, or has moved to 'complete response' and vanished, then presumably if it remains between 30 and 99 percent of pre-moditope size it is still defined as 'partial' and therefore no further RNS is mandatory. It would imo also be perfectly in order for the patient to reveal (or not) whatever they choose from their own report, as it may not technically alter what the 'partial response' RNS stated. I know I said time will tell and wait and see, but then again think how many hours are wasted on global TV discussing what the result of a dreary game of football might be - Moditope is far more interesting and exciting than 22 millionaires chasing a bag of wind round a field in their underwear.

'it would be daft for Scancell to go public prior to the patient being informed' - I think it would be unethical to do that, and equally unethical (or in reality impossible) to give a patient their results and require or expect them to stay silent, whether the results were good bad or static. We can guess as much as we like, but only time will tell.

Now here's a thought for the weekend - the patient (who we know to be genuine) gets the update on Monday, as C7 correctly said from his own experience the scan gets taken and then analysed by the oncologist and radiologist, and only then is the patient given the news. Once the patient is given the update, that information is theirs to disseminate as they wish to family, friends, chat boards etc...
So will there be an RNS at 7am Monday with any news before the patient is told? Will there be an RNS contemporaneous with the patient being updated? Or will there be no RNS until a bigger package of news on the Modify trial has been assembled? Answers not sought, just one to sit back and consider until next week arrives.

I think you may be wrong there C7 - that's more the sort of thing that BigAmi and Aimbig used to do. They were members separately before 2020, and of course are nothing whatsoever to do with AB123 who was not a member while those two were posting.

After 10 years or so of following, researching and discussing the share I agree. Yet with just a few lines on a chart and a couple of minutes of nasal pomposity and no reference to the business, market or news, Zak Mir can see all this with such clarity. Oh the wonders of charting - that's why they are all wealthier than Warren Buffet of course.

Probably nobody more surprised than Mir, a prediction that finally exceeded his own Mystic Meg waffle. I use his broadcasts on my rhubarb, brings it on lovely it does. Either he knows what the next patient scan brings or he knows no more than the rest of us. The rest of it is just chartywaffle, but presumably it pays the bills.

The word has been in the Urban Dictionary since 2014, and presumably in the oncology patient community since before then, so it quite probably predates any scans on scancell patients.
