RE: Unoffical Positive News8 Dec 2022 09:31
The news was actually in an RNS from prior to the AGM where it read 'all three patients showed a delayed type hypersensitivity response to the vaccine, which is indicative of a T cell response, and the first patient to be assessed has shown a partial tumour response at first radiological reassessment.'
'Partial tumour response' means at least 30 percent shrinkage, but nobody seemed to pick up on this at the time, even our resident 'I work in the pharma industry and know more than you plebs' experts. Then someone did some digging and found (on a publicly viewable site) a patient who appeared to be the one referred to, a fact later confirmed by the BoD at the AGM. Couldn't be more plain and open than that. The patient then confirmed that at the next scan at the end of November, a further significant shrinkage had taken place. So while this rise has accelerated on the public info from the Macmillan site, it is most definitely in an RNS. As said before though, 'partial response' covers the initial shrinkage amount and the subsequent significant amount, so no further update required just now, and given the potentially momentous nature of the results to date (IF they are all on a similar par) I can see an enormous amount of checking and double checking being done before any RNS or press exposure is done.
You know those articles where a bio does a BBC interview and says they have seen results in flies, mice or amoebas which if replicated in humans could cure many forms of cancer? The ones which then end with 'but it will take at least 10 years and many millions of pounds to see if this works in humans? Well its possible, just possible, that we may be seeing the other end of such a project, hence any data that is published needs to be checked to the nth degree for obvious reasons. Fingers crossed....
