I can think of a fair few who would be positively gleeful if Scancell were to fail, and agree that would be wrong in so many ways, but to post up a failure and reflect on how that has the potential to move the focus more onto Scancell is fair enough, and in that respect I'm grateful that the Scancell science is around. Perhaps it's not what is said, more the way it is said - it's a sensitive area.

Love the way paternost always puts a very long post up just a few minutes after anything realistic or factual gets posted. Good attempt at burying alternative views.

It's PM2022, and he's still there but not apparently active. However it's worth reading his predictions and laying them against what actually happened - shows a true ramper for what he is.

Try this one from 20th June this year -

I'd agree on it being a vote of confidence, all the more so as it's hot on the heels of the previous 10 million. However, I'm waiting for one of our regulars to pop up and say that 3 million isn't a big amount (as, apparently, 10 million wasn't) and then the usual stuff about 'pumping it ahead of a placing...'

I suppose it's because I looked long and hard at VAL as a possible serious investment, and looking at what was in the RNSs and the track record of the company, I couldn't find any compelling reasons to invest. I don't see a problem in commenting in either a serious or light-hearted tone which may appear questioning or even negative at times, as there are a lot more posters who put serious ramping posts up which bear little apparent reflection of reality. A bit of grounding or balance never hurt.

Uncanny - The links you post make no mention of Valirx or 201 - unless you'd care to copy and paste the sections which I may have missed. If you're saying that AZN have paid big money for licensing deals then yes, true enough, but that's as relevant as saying some grand residences sell for millions, so if I've got a house it could be worth millions as well.

And what is the point of posting a link (21.09hs on 3rd September) to stuff that makes no mention of your chosen company and is out of date by half a decade, then getting shirty when I mention it?

That article was published four years ago and is about deals from five years ago. It doesn't mention Valirx either. But apart from that it's a great find Uncanny. Why not post up a few scripts from the Morecambe and Wise Christmas Specials while you're at it?

I stand corrected on the patent process - but the question remains, will the company still be a going concern by the time the two or three months have passed for it to be granted? What do you reckon? Oh hang on, you've put me on filter again. Permanently. Until you peep round the curtains again. Why bother filtering then unfiltering for a moment? It's all a bit 'fingers in the ears and shout La La La' really.

As for me being a multi-millionaire - that's your assumption, but you don't know do you? As for having one's own stockbroker, that's surely just common sense with a reasonable portfolio - though maybe you don't have one, and that's why you've ended up stuck in VAL. Access to impartial advice is often worth a lot.

So what's the forecast anyway - Patent before placing or placing before patent?

They've had notice of allowance for the patent application - the absolute first stage - so how long to actually submit the formal application? And how much longer for a grant, if any actually arrives? Years, that's how long.

Meanwhile, air fares, hotel costs, and 'no, let me get this round' conversations have to be covered for the travel jollies. And as for the 'in discussions' line - at best I presume he's managed to book slot at a trade fair to speak to someone at a large company. Even in the most fevered imagination this does not translate into 'on the verge of a multi billion deal.'

The best line in the RNS is 'This work, in part, is supported by pump priming funding...' Their words, not mine, but it sounds very appropriate, given that the coffers are nearing empty now and there has been a rash of RNSs which the acolytes are interpreting as harbingers of squillions of pounds, giving very strong echoes of the M.O. from so many previous placings.

Time to order in some popcorn I suppose.
