I imagine if it was a case of the current lockdown followed by a series of ever decreasing spikes leading to the majority being immune, from which point life would resume normal and coronavirus would never be heard of much again, then Scancell and many others wouldn't bother hunting for a vaccine because it would all be over before anything was developed. Personally I trust Lindy not to have missed the bus or be playing a hopeless game of catch-up. She's too clever for that. Look forward to seeing developments leading on from today's RNS. Things could well move rapidly imo.

Given that Scancell is a British company and a capitalist enterprise, I imagine the BBC will ignore it completely.

When I said 'the project for a coronavirus ' I should have added the word 'vaccine' in there. Although a project to develop another virus might get funding from the Chinese, so all good for the share price....

It will be interesting to see how the project for a coronavirus develops. The RNS mentions the inevitable 'F' word, and one ting is for sure imo - they will have a fair idea where the money for this is coming from, especially if they are going from zero to phase 1 trials in under a year. It isn't going to be like 'Last of the Summer Wine' when they wake up one morning, find the train fare to Dewsbury is 58 pence each and decide to build their own train instead. I'm thinking of the number of high profile people and companies who are already very well aware of Scancell in general and Lindy in particular, and who have worked together for more than long enough to know her potential. My guess is that this will already be pretty clearly mapped out and a lot of arrangements will be falling into place in the background. Roll on the next RNS - Monday anyone?

Very true - certain sections of the media starting a murmur about wanting a 'government of national unity' which features little more than a number of failed former prime ministers and Keir Smarmer, who seem to think they can provide a more positive grip than an 80 seat majority Conservative government led by Boris who will be even more formidable once he recovers, I trust. The idea of a 'government of national unity' coincidentally comprises (unelected) members who are exclusively pro-remain and want a last roll of the dice to try to stop the final stages of Brexit - such a move would then mean we had to contribute towards the economic meltdown ahead in the EU instead of being grateful we have made a timely escape from the money pit.

Too many people like to see conspiracies where there are none, and the current fashion is very much to want to be part of a group that is a victim of something - 'oh poor me' syndrome, as seen here on occasion too.

I do apologise if the suggestion of an 'oh poor me' pill was inadequate. Maybe you should take two next time, and a good dose of whatever makes you relax and uncover your sense of humour. You can't enjoy life if you take everything as a personal insult. Cheer up and relax .

I think you need to take a deep breath, swallow an anti 'oh poor me' pill, then read my post in the actual spirit it was intended, and if that doesn't work then maybe filter me.
