Hydrogen Good idea for questions. I'm not a twitterer but happy to suggest some Qs. I agree more info on Miran would be useful. I'm certainly no expert in company finances and accounting, but it immediately struck me that the Miran write down was just a way for the company to kick paying tax for 2018-19 down the road. I still don't understand why it hammered the SP so bad. I'd like to know more details about why bina bawi negotiations are taking so long. I think Bill H mentioned something about them being difficult, but what is the problem(s)? I also want to know what their plans are (if any) for farming out assets to help spread the financial burden and speed up development. It would also be useful to have more info on Iraq/krg's plan for investment in infrastructure relating to genel. Are genel open to (sensible) offers as well as looking for opportunities to buy other O&G? They must be looking mightily attractive to some larger fish.

Volume picking up. Large number of buys verses sells.

A couple of biggish sells early on, totalling 47k. Could easily recover later on, or just continue to drop. Who knows.

Hi ocelot, Thanks for the figures. Just been through it, and that approach seems sensible. So if instead of the PE of 5.7 genel had a PE more in line with small cap risky O&G of say 8 or 9 the SP should be well over £3. Using another valuation metric (EV/EBITAX) gives Genel a value of 1.9 where anything below 10 is considered cheap. Regardless of gas progress or somalialand progress or slow dividend or geo/political risk or company history, or anything else that is a negative, Genel is hugely undervalued. Even with a share price of £4 there is still plenty of 'risky oil and gas company' deduction applied to the SP. The current company valuation is a joke.

Fair points Boyo. I'd completely agree with you on many of those points. And I probably am too trusting! but I still struggle to understand the current valuation of genel. With a P/E of about 2.6, when it could be expected to have a PE of +8.

Wow, you've gone super negative on genel all of a sudden. I don't really see what the major problem is. They've (temporarily?) written off an asset that wasn't priced in to the company's value anyway. On the plus, They are churning out cash at a rate of knots. Cash positive. Dividend announced for 2020, and possibly a dividend for 2019 (I don't think they would have mentioned that if they weren't pretty sure to get agreement from the bond holders). Increases to production, bina bawi being negotiated, etc etc.

If my numbers are correct, then a 10p divi would cost the Co. just shy of £28mill. They could cover a 10p divi from one months oil revs

OK, yes good point.

Was just wondering why on earth we are still waiting for genel SP to rerate. Going by E/P from 2017 genel is on a massive discount to DNO and GKP. Shouldn't genel's SP be at around £4 now with an expectation of going to 8 if the FY2018 accounts are as positive as we think they might be. Yet we're still waiting for it go back to £3! WTF is going on?

Hi Boyo, oops sorry. I see what you're saying now. Bilgin's reinvestment is a very good sign. Hopefully the SP will continue onwards and upwards.

Hi boyobach, What about 'C'? If you look at this time last year up to about May, I'm hoping the current rise will be similar to that pattern, in which case the current rise should top out at about +350 before it drops back again.
