What do you think about the falling wedge on G's SP since about June 2018? If charts analysis is to be believed, when this wedge ends and genel rises again it will be a big one.

I get the feeling you take profits earlier than I aim to, which perhaps works well for G.
I've always tried to get a 30% profit on any trade (I don't trade often), but I find those opportunities are few and far with G. As you mention, maybe I should worry less about percentages and just focus on just getting some profit within those trend lines.

Hi Boyo. Always enjoy your analysis of the situation. Interesting to read you considering a slight change in tactic with a daily adjusted stop-loss. I've thought about doing something similar before. I've not tried it yet though because always thought GENL SP is a bit too volatile but with a fairly tight medium range. What I mean is on a single day the SP maybe have 5 point range whilst the medium term range is only about 20 or 30 points. It's very different from a share like RIO which has much easier ratio between daily and medium term ranges.
My point being, what do you think is a reasonable stop loss position below the daily SP? If you go 5 points below previous days finish you could get stopped out too early on daily volatility, but if you go 10 points you could end stopping out without actually getting much profit. Is it worth the hassle??

Sheesh Leem you're like a stuck record. I'm not sure why you continuously think they aren't doing anything, when they plainly are. And I really don't understand why you keep buying shares then complaining and complaining. If you don't like the company, don't invest. It's simple.

Boyo, I'd agree with you, the market only cares about delivering, but where is the market response to the deal with chevron earlier this year, where is the market response to the stonking ~7% dividend, where is the market response to the buy backs, the impressive company finances on the half year results. The company is delivering, the market is ignoring it.

Is the market expecting zero growth for the next 4 years?

I still can't understand why genel have such an incredibly low valuation. By my calcs the PE is about 3.3 and the EV/EBITDA Multiple is 1.5.
I just can't understand why the market is pricing the company this low. People talk about geo-politics discount, but the current discount seems more than extreme. At the current rate the company will hold more cash than its MCap within a couple of years. Within 4 years the company's net cash will be more than the MCap! It just does not make sense.

Ignore the gas, ignore all the other exciting things that may or may not come to fruition, and the company value is still low.

Do they definitely have to issue daily RNS's for share purchases. Could they be purchasing anyway and do one final notification after 17th?

Essentially flat since May. More wells coming online though plus new deep well to test jurassic.

Wasn't it producing 126800 bopd in May 2019 (according to the AGM statement). That's a hefty decline, and with 3 new Wells online too.

Crazy low vol. Maybe people are waiting for the update. Is everyone just focusing on GKP at the moment?

Found me jodhpurs just in time for a joint first place with Hasiba. Well done fella. That photo finish was exciting, but what we're really waiting for is Billy to stick a bit of ginger up genel's SP, with a juicy RNS on progress being made.
No need for me to bang about how great genel's prospects are, as you'll get more useful info from the excellent regular (and non-regular) posters from this board. Just watch out for the irregular posters, they are a strange bunch.
