Wyndrum, What i have posted re "Special Buys" is different to the BH situation, for these it's a numbers game, the "Special Buys" qtys are normally min 10,000pcs so for a Brand that normally operates on smaller qtys it can be quite lucrative and if done sparingly on the odd order doesn't damage the Brand and is just incremental business.
For the BH situation as i mentioned before on here and as i'm sure everyone can appreciate there is a ton of stock sloshing around at mo, nothing wrong with the stock just a consequence of Covid, to BH's credit on some of it they probably don't have any obligation to take but to full fill all the labels they have in such a short time it makes sense until structure is in place to use this stock and trade with it, school boy error on the cross offer and labelling tho!!! As i have banging on and on about on these pages , great acquisitions but it takes time to get structure in place and this issue is a classic example of what can happen without that structure, we do need to put this into perspective tho, in overall scheme of things it is tiny!!!
Why BH have been singled out God only knows, easy tgt i guess, BBC and Sky seem to be in competition, snakes and ladders will continue in some guise but it's effecting share price less and less as it's just really white noise. As quoted on here already many of these practices are adopted by supermarkets all the time especially the new pretenders and many own food by Brands are manufactured by the actual Brands, altho when it comes to food and German supermarkets i'm sure there are people far more qualified on here to tell what goes on.
