Right young Daniel i think we maybe getting somewhere and your starting to put some flesh on the bones a bit with quotes press releases.
Sooo the stuff i have taken for granted for the last 20 years you are lumping under one single title and your understanding is that all this stuff is somehow new and it's the Holy Grail and has been overlooked by the great and good.
So i will write a list of what you think is a platform, mine by is short, two words, transactional site, if i miss anyhting be sure to let me know, i may have even give you some heads up on this like the first one below for instance.
Transactional site that is:-
Able to be dual currency linking £ prices to Country of Platform offer
Easy to Navigate
Strong back office with easy transactional payments
Possibly in your eyes a Marketplace, where each Brand can upload new product easily (this can be a nightmare,i've done it)
Easy return policy
I dunno knowing you you've probably lumped marketing under this title as well.
You are putting many other things under this and i totally u/s why because you don't see the nuances so for the likes of you JL and others call it a platform what they wont say is this.
White works better then grey when taking pics.
Models with face tattoos worked well from 2018 and till 2019 but don't now.
Rotating of pages on a twice weekly bases is imperative and the ability to do it because everyone switches off after page 5
Drill down menus have become so sophisticated that it has increase a buy through by 50%

Now you have no clue if any of the sites you mention have this knowledge.
You are also now lumping distribution under platform, really its not, its part of the offer but you can by all means call it a platform. Simply put if you have a got a easy returns and delivery next day then your no in the game, call it platform i call it a state of the art DC and Courier Service.
NOW MOST IMPORTANTLY ABOVE AND BEYOND ANY OF THE ABOVE IF YOUR BUYING TEAMS AND MANGEMENT BUY WRONG THEN FORGET THE ABOVE GETTING PRODUCT CORRECT FOR YOUR DEMO AND TELLING THEM ABOUT IT IS THE OVERALL NO1 MOST IMPORTANT THING , BUT THEN AGAIN YOU PROBABLY CALLING THIS PLATFORM.
Dan your not an ideas man your an accountant, if it's not already written on some report or chart you don;t get it, you can analise , lol, but you can't create, all the charts and graphs you use come from an idea first , everything else your reading is after the idea has gone to market, your always looking backwards, this is why you are nervy.
