We all question why we have invested in a company when the Share Price isn't going the way we want it to. I always take time to a look back at my initial research and see if it's still valid.
Alpha as a company has changed significantly since I first invested with its primary focus now being on the insurance side of the business with the acquisition of Northstar and the upcoming acquisition of the Guernsey based company.
These 2 acquisitions will see AUM increase to around $700 million. $650 million for the insurance business and $50 million for the BOAGF.
As we have seen from the accounts, revenues have increased 30 fold over the period with one off costs resulting in a loss. Nobody likes it when a company you're invested in posts a loss, but now that those one off costs have been accounted for we can expect to generate similar % revenues over the coming period, not on $350 million AUM but on $700 million + AUM (I would expect the fund to increase AUM) so assuming no additional acquisitions are made over the coming period then we are in an excellent position, likely generating something in the region of $4-5 million (possibly more) throughout the 2022 accounting period. We wont have those one off costs so I fully expect the company to be profitable this year and as AUM increaes so does income and therefore profits with minimal additional costs to the company.
I've read and heard that many shareholders are up in arms about the options granted, if you're not happy then the one way to voice your dissatisfaction is via the AGM, cast your vote and let your dissatisfaction be known to the company.
The fundamentals for me have changed but I'm satisfied that my investment here will generate significant returns in the future. Unfortunately the markets are a mess at the moment and unlikely to get much better any time soon. Once investors wake up to the opportunity that ALPHA provides then we shall see a significant rise in the share price and I'm sure that Share22k and Daisy will be much happier (although I'm sure theyll be grumbling about something).
I cant attend the AGM on Monday due to work, but I'll look forward to seeing the results when they're posted. The numbers will speak volumes about shareholder confidence and I suspect those numbers will be a vote of confidence in GS and the team.
