You've got some absolutely sterling shares in your portfolio which you have held for many years. The issue I suppose for Gerry and I fresh to the scene is can we get anything like that kind of return. I think I'd have to live to a ripe old age and then have them in my pf years after I have gone to make the kind of profits and divi income you have Bonz. I remember a couple of years ago, a guy on an Aims bb telling me I'd have to wait until 2017 for production if it ever happened and I remember thinking that I could be dead by then. That share has had some very good news of late but it is still not up to where it was when I gave up on it (potash). I sometimes marvel at the amount of your original investment in things - £100 in thorntons lol or £400 or something lego tried last year allowing for inflation. Sun here at last but grass so wet. atb.

To my shame, I couldn't even remember if I done anything with fres in March without checking my account. I had a sell near the start of the month and a sell nearer the end of the month both at prices far higher than today's high point here. Just shows you how volatile it can be and it's about knowing how high it might go as well as how low it might go but the middle course is okay too which is about as profound as it gets from me when I have a couple of hours of grass cutting ahead of me.

The bbs are for discussion. It was just that I had seen you mulling over buying on 3 bbs recently and I had never seen you doing any mulling over selling anything. That's maybe because you are a buy and hold man by nature in it for the divi. Mull was the place where the gale force winds cancelled my recent sai btw. I have held/hold shares in just about every sector except tobaccos. Some like supermarkets I have left and would never say never to a return in the light of any changing circumstances. So it was just that I got a bit of a prompt re. this sector and the price looked right for this particular share. Going to recommend one of your posts elsewhere re. the best performing pfs being those of the dead lol.

I think you'll be alright - not sure about the long-termers here though. That MarkESmith guy tried to tell me last year that this was a quality company with a niche market but I think he wanted them to keep PB. As soon as I heard a ramp like that, I ran for the hills. Meal time for me. I guess your servants serve up your food to you on a silver platter. lol

Did a dummy buy as suggested elsewhere and it was the 1% here. Limited time and funds right at the minute to devote to anything but got a pretty long watch list. atb

Been advised on the bbs to put a few into this sector for a nice happy retirement which is a constantly upward moving target.

As far as I can make out she might have signed for the option she didn't want. LOL was revisiting the info on reclaiming tax paid on foreign divis and have given up for this afternoon as it is brightening up here. Not a bad price at times here this week for the chap or chapess who was looking to sell depending on the price paid in the first place. Think granny's came from the building society.

Beg pardon Bruce definitely zero to pay on bpty but I think it was the Irish tax on divi at dgo I could have reclaimed and not the Irish stamp duty on the actual purchase. lse is indicating yield at Ryanair is zero per cent but not always accurate that column? I think O'Leary is a bit like Ashley and people love to hate but obviously a shrewd operator. Anyhow if I decide to take the plunge there I'll let you know on the appropriate bb. atb
