When you have been a member of lse as long as I have you will probably come to realise that there are probably no posters who can predict on a regular basis exactly when is the right time to buy and then sell a share or vice versa. Some guess right now and again and some can tell you when they are buying but not when they are selling and vice versa. The rest is just flannel I'm afraid to say. If you are a big fan of Velo then maybe you could ask lse to give you a defunct bb to use for following his or her predictions on a range of shares.

Can't remember where I read the article about the activists doing really well in respect of 70% of their dealings - the Guardian I think - but no matter. If rolls need to shed jobs then getting lean will help preserve the jobs of those remaining and it is folk who are usually looking for early retirement anyway who volunteer in the main. In rr.'s favour for the future are that it has a new highly regarded chief executive, some big - even a record -contracts in the bag and that this new activist shareholder is said to make large profits on about 70% of its dealings. If you knew Bonz's birthday was at the end of March and mine was at the end of July, could not have got mrs sid to arrange for us to win one of the company competitions. The prizes for the mother's day one included a year supply of chocolates. Did you see some French hedge fund had notified a short position on thorntons yesterday then notified of closure today viz. Crdit Industriel et Commercial. Evening Bonz, Waitrose isn't very big in Scotland yet so don't go there very often myself. They'd be daft I think to expand too much up here except for in a few posh areas as we like to buy crip in Scotland as long as it's cheap. It is good that Mrs. B has a few private pensions in addition to her occupational pension as the age for getting the state one keeps rising. People post on bbs where they have no position in a company for various reasons e.g. to deramp a company to attempt to aid a short position and/or buy in low, because they want to gather information before taking a position, because they have a sector interest, to wish holders well as I did elsewhere this week and others did here last night, to explain why they sold in the past and might or might not consider buying back in and to make a valid point about not liking the crip divi here - as Grayling did - notwithstanding the opportunity to take the divi as cash. From personal experience at tesco the other supermarkets and one or two others, I would say it's a thankless task trying to share your views with some holders and traders and some will even turn downright nasty with you. Wonder if finishing nearly 6% up on a Friday validates the Reuter reporter's view that the results were slightly better than expected more than the 2/3% rise the previous day Velo. I can only suggest that if you are busy off board and work is pressing then it might be an idea to shorten your posts to me anyhow. Aye but the thing that differentiates the CEO here, Black Rock, Value Act Capital Master Fund, L.P. and humble old me from the likes of you, Zak Mir (at least wise at the time of writing his blog) and Grayling is that we have positions in rolls Royce so it is time well spent to ponder over increases to dividends, results being slightly better than previously thought and what the future may hold with contract gains. Can't be half so interesting for those just sitting on the sidelines. for a couple of months. I read this from a lse poster and liked - lse is full of ten bob millionaires here for an ego boost but they would be better suited to sitting at the roulette table. I don't think he/she intended to post anymore so we can only speculate as to what it meant. Is investing about making educated cases and maybe seeing your investment double over a few months eg flyb or grabbing a point or penny a day. Have a good weekend.
