Renewables have been the cheapest option for around five years now and getting cheaper.

New technology is reducing costs every year.

P2X2P is the next game changer as it means you won't pay renewables for over generating and solar and wind will generate power at night when the sun is not shining and the wind is not blowing.

Yes some battery will be required, I am not of the percentage as waiting to see the first Siemens configuration.

But early indications make it a no brainer.

Along with RR mini necular reactors the world is going to change faster than anyone thinks.

But yes they keep the price high for power in the UK by setting the gas price as the renewables price.

Really NeedAbrain EV's have exploded in China mainly because yes we move away from oil to meet climate targets.

But also to counter the huge pollution problem China's city's have, and the fact they are becoming cheaper to produce and certainly cheaper to run.

Even in Trump's America Solar is going gangbusters, all private money and the government is being left behind.

In the UK we are soon going to have another social device.

Those households that generate their own power for their house and fuel for their car.

And those that don't.

I am already looking for solutions where I don't sell my excess solar back to the grid.

I want to become totally cash neutral on power and fuel.

Currently I drive a diesel, but as soon as I have a solution, I will have an electric car and pay nothing for fuel, the same as I pay very little for energy for the house.

Next you are correct on octopus energy, but as usual you don't have the facts.

The main part of your Octopus energys argument is to break the link between pricing for gas and renewable energy.

Currently renewables are charged at a higher rate if only one therm of gas is used.

That's ridiculous.

I know the reasons the government won't do it.

It's because successive governments haven't invested in renewables.
