I thought it was a tricky moment handled well, happy to accept HMSO reported 82p NAV but there is always the possibility of creative accounting
or ‘m@sturb@ting by numbers ‘ as my old boss would say

Not a lot, HMSO kept it simple, said that’s what the math came out at and agreed to discuss the calculation off line

Sorry but I couldn’t determine if they thought it was low or high

Whilst all the signs around pandemic control and easing of long lock down restrictions are positive, we still have some way to go.

Cautiously optimistic and can absorb losses in that’s the way it goes.

I’ve been hedging this one, took half profits at £1.09 and waited for results
Bought back half my £1.09 sales at £1.15 like you; no shame in buying in to momentum.
Next purchase when it holds above £1.20 or if it falls below £1.09

Just a word of caution. The outlook is positive on the virus however we still have a way to go and I don’t see any meaningful recovery before Q3.

PCP is popular way to purchase - deposit + X payments, contract mileage and you give the car back at the end
Buyers may use cash stash to fund deposit, I can see a lot of upgrades in the near term

IMO Tech is in correction territory, investors are switching to value. The transition will be gradual through H1. We need evidence that the pandemic is under control. Don’t get carried away, the signs are positive but we have a way to go.

Great if you can spot entry and exit prices so it’s worth listening when anyone shares TA. I’m cautiously optimistic

I have a core holding atm, took a chunk of profit at 1.90

My feeling is that the worst is over and I’m not really that concerned about how the market reacts on Thursday. With 2023 investment horizon in mind, if there is no bad news and some progress I plan to buy on Thursday.

I went to put my car in for a service and it was fantastic service. I was even looking at buying a new one from that dealership.

My local Toyota dealership is superb, no complaints whatsoever. In 15 years I have seen service levels greatly improve across Nissan, Kia and Toyota sales and after sales.

Bit of patience required but Lookers should be a nice medium term hold from this price level.

just a minor point on your post. Some companies chose to issue debt but AIG have raised much needed working capital through a rights issue and have increased their market cap/value compared to pre pandemic value ie more shares in issue X pre pandemic price.

Dilution only occurs if you do not take up your rights issue and for retail investors is irrelevant because they own such a small holding. Rights issue is usually priced favourably to make it attractive. Not sure what the offer price was in AIG case but you probably missed out on some nice additional profit if you didn’t take up your right. That said, the share price was tanking at the time......

Getting to the point, it’s not particularly relevant when comparing investments, however the success or failure of the rights issue is an indication of sentiment. Hope this is helpful, sorry for butting in:-)

A bit like owning a holiday home and renting it out on airbnb. You still own it but you make a few quid when you’re not using it.
Meanwhile, the value goes up (or down) :-)

If price rises tomorrow you’re making money on your holding.
Why wish the price to drop so you can bet on the bottom?
