Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Scratchy, that is blatant scare mongering
I think the government is right to approach this the way it has and we should remain calm until the scientists have completed their tests.
It is too early to know for sure what the impact of this of these mutations will but there are many things to be positive about:
1. The mutation has taken place amongst a poorly vaccinated population in Africa
2. Scientists understand so much about covid at this stage of the pandemic and we have many vaccines and treatments
3. The mutation is relatively close in timing to delta mutation and therefore less likely to evade said vaccines and treatments
I say restrict the unvaccinated. If you are not vaccinated you are likely to carry a high virus load when infected and this accelerates the spread compared to someone immunised with the a booster jab. I stand to be corrected but I understand that the viral load in a booster immunised individual, even if infected, is likely to be too low to spread the virus.
The market reaction is fairly predictable and typically overdone at this stage - I see this as a buying opportunity unless there is evidence that the omicron strain is spreading through the vaccinated
Sorry Valueplay, just caught up with your earlier post
Take it you’re in Valueplay?
Why now?
£1.75 resistance?
Sorry for 3rd degree, I’m a nosey ****
It’s got to hold up at some level
Picked up at few just before close as a purely speculative punt
Tbh I don’t think this changes much short term
Ingenuity valuation = accounting irregularity
I’ll bet somebody thought it out loud, next thing it’s going to clients. Seen it happen
It’s a ‘fantastic business’ struggling with its valuation
I fear it hasn’t reached below the bottom estimate of it’s fair value
I would love to see the valuation models used by the analysts
Hi Valueplay. Like you’re thinking but red flags are all out there already - the business knows what it has to do around improving governance which will include ‘gagging’ MM. That’s the easy bit.
I think you need to forget where the SP has come from; to maintain a valuation of a couple of billion will require a regular news flow of Ingenuity (global )deals in the millions. The market is clearly not impressed with current financial performance or future prospects given what we know. No news flow = no value increase
I’ve been following this since flotation, loving the story without fully understanding the business. Thanks to this board my understanding has improved.
Unfortunately the loss in confidence suffered as a result of the disastrous presentation means that, in the short term, there is no support for the price and it’s a penalty kick for the short sellers. This business needs to get its governance sorted, that is what is expected now, so I wouldn’t expect any movement on share price on further governance related news. Going forward, IMO, it will take a series of stellar headlines to support the price and add value. How long? If I knew that………
I’m patiently waiting for an entry point.
It’s volatile, but trend is upwards
It’s a long term play now possibly as far out as when they announce return to dividend payments
News flow is all positive so downside limited
I’m prepared for a dip when interims are released in Dec if any combo of free cash flow/eps/debt reduction falls short of expectation
Should have a bb for day traders on;y, leave the intelligent discussions to real investors
Will it hold these levels?
I’m not seeing a broader spike though
Taken from Reuters
‘A trial of Pfizer Inc's (PFE.N) experimental antiviral pill for COVID-19 was stopped early after the drug was shown to cut by 89% the chances of hospitalization or death for adults at risk of developing severe disease, the company said on Friday.’
I received my scrip from Interactive Investor last time round
Shares are in an ISA now so not sure if that will make a difference
For me, I like this business and will watch the coming months with interest.
I don’t believe anything has changed with today’s update and my gut tells me that there will be a retrace to 248 (Ingenuity valued at nil) or below if market discounts other parts of the business for now.
The PR disaster will take time to smooth over .
I just don’t understand Ingenuity and the monetisation potential - not sceptical but can’t see a valuation of +£1billion right now
I hope you guys showing faith get your reward for the risk taken
Ignore my last
Just noticed they announced permanent appointment in September
Dividends, etc……
Slightly disconcerting for me that Lookers have still not appointed permanent FD/CFO, a critical position IMO.
Would like to have seen a stronger appointment as I don’t think interim is right fit.
Not sure this board have the sophistication required to build and manage relationships required of a plc.
Bit harsh
Am I right in thinking there is a fallout over strategic direction and estimated funding levels
Young Matt just had his ar&e spanked
This looks very fixable and at this price level they are worth a punt
Red wine, guess your glass is half full
Full year pbt guidance has been raised materially in spite of uncertainty in supply chain. Lookers outperforming sector.
Will market downgrade on uncertainty or upgrade on guidance??
I have a core holding. Took a chunky, short term punt yesterday at 59p and I would expect a nice bump upwards today (and if so I will take profit) but you just never can tell.
