Agree the great news this morning still marred by all those reasons you mentioned .Myself and many on this BB were hoping the treatment would have saved many lives by now .If Synairgen is successful and I am sure it will be because we followed the science then those who did not follow the science or support it should be asked the relevant questions to why but this will sadly still be too late for many .

The timing on the NIH news this morning and now the Roche news was the NIH news deliberate for any reason ?

Why has this been released now? Is big Pharma behind it? After watching The Trick last night it makes me think about the big boys like oil and tobacco industry trying to destroy good science

The US are appearing to escalate our treatment potential with its distinct advantages over other drugs where you can apply simple screening tests for patients with autoantibodies and if considered tests for interferon beta deficiency Also awaiting for positive data on long Covid there really is so much to look forward to

I share you frustration on one hand Synairgen for may months is never mentioned by name and on the other hand now there is an identity crisis whether to call it an antiviral or immunomodulator or even both eg as a broad spectrum antiviral given orally .Anyway whatever , hope your perseverance is proved correct about what Fauci mentioned

Direct antivirals act on the RNA of the virus eg pills while immunomodulators trigger our immune system eg Sng .Both may be taken orally .Unfortunately Fauci is referring to the former

I was especially encouraged by the HT results measuring severe breathlessness as requirement for treatment while the mild breathlessness are left to recover recover Also the prospects developing prognostic diagnostics identifying patients who are likely to develop severe Covid with a simple test to detect those who deficient in beta interferon or a blood test to identify those with autoantibodies With A2 investigating viral loads it seems to me this could be the most efficient treatment strategy in this setting imo
