RE: Before Consolidation, MM force the SP down.20 Dec 2021 09:53
I know I'm stating the obvious or at least, I hope I am. The Share price = Market cap / shares in issue. That's it! At the moment of the consolidation, each and every shareholder will have shares that will be worth exactly the same as they were before the consolidation. That's not to say the SP won't fall afterwards, on AIM, it usally does in my experience. The other negative is that some companies use the lower number of shares in issue as a raising opportunity. You only have to look a VAL's history for that. That said, there are some positives. The biggest one is we look more professional to the institutions. Penny shares are erratic and have the SP at say 55p will to some extent protect us from the Mm's dropping the SP on a few millions shared sold. If we do have any more HNWi waiting to invest better to do it before the consolidation just do everything is neat and know as we go into 2022. Only problem for us holders is we'll have to change the name of the 10p, 28p or 1 pound party. Hopefully, the invites have already been printed. :-)
