From the info that's been provided, I can see that things are building, and the company is well placed.
Primerdesign seemed to have upped their game recently in terms of PR.
For me personally, I think the info is all there if your willing to look for it.
I'm not sure what more info ppl are looking for. As I seem to be missing the point, I'll ask you, what information are you looking for them to share atm ?

I don't frequent the BB very often now, it's getting far too fractious and nasty now.

I don't understand the constant demand for information, there will be complex protracted contract negotiations underway in the background, of that, I've no doubt. I'm not sure if you have had exposure to contract negotiations with Government or especially NHS but they are painful, exacting and slooow.
I'm not surprised Mandy is now using a generic response now, she is probably getting inundated with email. I thought the Q&A published had lots to be positive about, if you read it properly.
This is a slow build to potential major player in molecular diagnostics and GM seems the right kind of sensible, methodical CEO laying the foundations. If seen CEOs who gave fantastic TUs, when the company was a piece of sh*t, they get found out.

I'm not sure if this is good or bad news but the operation moonshot £400 million testing program may just have come off the rails in a rather spectacular fashion. The analyser selected to do this test, the Opitgene LAMP assay is the subject of this rather worrying paper from the journal of infection. Couldn't make it up really. Anyway make up your own minds

Excellent posts, I concur with all your reasoning.
I only came on this bb tonight to recommend ppl read the Q&A with Sharon P a truly excellent article thats easy to understand, its a pity this info is buried in this thread, unless I've missed it elsewhere. If anybody thinks Covid isn't going to be with us for much longer, think again (I'm not pleased about this btw)
The article has also answered some of my concerns regarding variants of concern although I'd like to know more about the escape gene and why its so important, they didn't elaborate on that too much.
It's going to be more complex than flu to manage and will require long term strategies to adapt. Probably good from a Novacyt POV but putting that aside, quite depressing from a life point of view, part of me thinks now, that we will never return fully to life as we knew it pre covid.
(I've had to rewrite this about 3 times as it sounded like I was jubilant about this latest info)

Are you 100% sure about that, pretty sure influenza isn't from the same stable of viruses as the corona virus.
In fact, its from the Orthomyxoviridae family. Just saying...

It probably could be interfaced properly to the lab system properly but its probably not worth the cost and effort at this time

They report to a stand alone pc currently then transcribed manually into the lab system which then in turns sends out the data returns as requested, along with the results from all analysers for covid tests

Tbh, I'm beginning to think this will be like painting the Forth Bridge, it needs doing again before you finish.
It needs a global, not country, response, I'm worried, its a corona virus, causes common colds too.
Its not been studied in anywhere near the level of detail that influenza has for over the last 100 years or so.
The longer it circulates in the population, globally, the more chances of mutations. No one knows what the effect of these will be.
Its already increased its transmitabilty from this. It could mutate again and become harmless, just like a common cold, or it could increase its pathogenicity and start killing even more. I've already lost 3 friends to this, all under 55, the last friend was as fit and strong as anyone I've ever met, he was 48, took him in 2 weeks.
I'm not trying to scare anyone and there's nothing for me to gain by saying this but this is serious. Just wear a fecking mask and keep isolating its driving me mad too but the longer ppl keep ****ing about, the longer lockdown will last

If you want my honest opinion, which I know you haven't asked for so apologies, BUT I fear we are in deep **** atm and I don't think our gov is being honest.
I'm alarmed by terms such as 'variant of concern' that hasn't been elaborated on and the lockdown of our borders after a year of being open.
I strongly suspect we have a highly transmissible variant thats resistant to current vaccines.
So everyone is getting vaccinated against the original wuhan virus, giving an open door to the new variant, so everyone will need to be vaccinated again, if a traveller brings in another variant that is resistant to that vaccine, we will be stuck in this forever. Could say more but, im concerned atm. All of this is just my opinion so pay no heed

As far as I'm aware this is now being rolled out throughout England. The north received promate first but would imagine everyone has it now.
From what I've seen and know I wouldn't expect any labs to have any issue with implementation now. So numbers for testing will grow.
I seem to recall a statement where GM stated that Phase 2 was dependent upon take up of Q machines in phase 1. Issues were identified early on, they have been recognised and addressed now.
Its also had a trial period in London labs before national rollout and POCT was also evaluated and passed in all settings by the Technical Validation Group.
Since this, novyact has released the SNPsig testing, also winterplex and other developments in the pipeline.
For me, there would appear to be no more tests or barriers required from Novyact.
This is my first foray into AIM markets, its no better than gambling as far as I can see. I'm ignoring the noise on this BB, because its just a distraction, so I've reverted to basics and my normal investment style.

Personally, ive asked and answered these questions for myself.
So I'm happy to hold what I have and the associated risk, which for me is small.
Its already struck deals outside the UK, Ukraine and I also suspect Canada from some of the primerdesign tweets.
All the information to make an informed decision is there, you just have to look and apply some common sense. Would I remortgage my house to invest, no, I'm not insane and not that greedy.
I've invested a reasonable amount that should give me a nice return if things go well, if it goes to $h!t, I'll live.
The company needs to move up the league's and get out of the insanity of the AIM market.
This is all my own opinion, I trust nothing or no one on this board, I would advise you all to do the same. We are all random strangers.
I'm intrigued to see where novacyt goes, its bringing technology that when I was a youngster all of this stuff was confined to research labs, to see it now all packed up in a shoebox with a simple cassette that takes an hour is like science fiction.

The ppl who I'm in contact with are more than happy with it now.
Staff are being trained, all finding it easy to use. It's passed internal validation, just now planning to introduce it into the routine testing program.
The only hiccup is that it uses dry swabs as opposed to swabs in viral transport media (vtm) which so they are targeting particular patient and staff cohorts to use the equipment with.
So its all good, again though the I wouldn't expect a sharp jump in testing numbers, it will rise more and more as more of them come on line.
Apart from the main stream large analysers, its far and away better than any of the new analysers that have been introduced by the gov in terms of usability, capacity and accuracy.
I've heard numbers of 1200 individual tests for 2 machines in a 24 hrs shift.
I only have a limited snapshot of ppl who are actually using this but wouldn't expect massive deviations away from this.
All golden from my perspective atm.
PS, for your own sanity, don't check this BB too often, there's so much rubbish from all sides being spouted and most of it is conjecture and opinion with very few actual relevant facts. I'm currently sitting on approx 35% loss from at 1 point 30% profit and during that whole time fundamentally absolutely nothing had changed.
I'm holding for the future, we've not even talked about the usage in cancer care which could equally be game changing.
There is more to this thank covid, nhs, UK.

Yes, I know Ive kinda being saying this since I joined this board the Q machines are best deployed as POCT type analysers, not just laboratory based.

Future testing in the field, in Africa for instance when they have infectious outbreaks. or cancer testing ?

The market is potentially massive and not as most ppl visiting this BB dont seem willing to believe, Global.

Its value shouldn't be predicated by UK NHS contracts, understand what the platform is capable of, where and how it can be applied and then this global.

This is a significant change to the UK’s infrastructural ability to deal with the pandemic and future infectious disease testing as sample handling had been reduced from Level 3 to Level 2 by the MHRA earlier in the year,

and now it would APPEAR that the PHE have approved use of Novacyt’s PCR workflow for use outside of Level 2 environments and into a range of mobile, community and private business settings.

Is anyone else a little alarmed at the extent of the draconian measures brought in today by the gov, given our borders have been wide open previously since this started, why the sudden change of heart????
