@andi, yes your right, they work for ppl who have a high viral load, ie rip roaring positives.
These are the ppl that tend to get the sickest.
But the problem is with those who do not fall into this category, which is most ppl, and therein lies the problem as its most ppl.
Its never been false positives that have been the problem, its the false negatives.
No test is better than a bad test. A false negatives gives reassurance that you are not infected and so you go about your business when you probably shouldn't.
The innova tests are fit only for the bin and have actually made the UK situation worse.
EU is now being hammered but the UK level is, has and is always one 9f the highest.
The UK gov is happy to see 50k ppl a year dying from covid. Rest of the world, not so much.
Gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside doesn't it. Still, we're leading the world at something.
And now tis the season of giving, so this years goto present will be covid

@porky you are correct novacyt are now on the NHS approved suppliers list so in theory individual labs can order directly but promate as far as I'm aware is still being supplied via DHSC. I'd expect this to continue tbh due to economies of scale.
Still wouldn't be surprised if a new large order came from dhsc to novacyt, even including more q machines.
Remember the money approved by gov a few months ago, to support community diagnostic hubs.
That project should be underway by now, not looked for any new tenders for this yet but DHSC will need to get their skates on if these are to be up and running this winter. I'll not hold my breath mind.
Still lots to play for with novacyt, sit tight.

There was absolutely no need to re invent the wheel with this. If the Gov had just invested in the existing infrastructure and expertise, it would have cost barely at tenth of the money they threw at this, downside was nobody profits

I've never invested in AIM markets before, now, Now I know why, basically gambling with new ventures, some could 10 bag or more, others, crash and burn, they're the risks.
With Novacyt though, I invested too late tbh, but that said they have proven themselves to be worth investing in.
Lots of ups and downs to come but for an AIM share with good, reliable revenue for the foreseeable (think outside UK, think global)

The potential is there, the fundamentals are there, good revenue stream ATM.

What I do know is that their technology is sound, they have, thus far, acquired companies that enhance their business.
They, despite the dispute, are selling into the UK NHS domestic market and their machines have been adopted and now in regular use.
Long term potential: major player.
Short term potential: massive volatility and bit of a knee wobbles.

More than a bit worried, ive lost 2 good friends to this who were both younger than me. Must admit, I had let my guard down, not wearing mask as much.
Covid is going nowhere. This is just the beginning of winter too and UK is starting from a sky high level.
I see the European countries now, stepping in and taking measures already because of covid.
We have a very high infection rate and death rate already and yet again we do nothing.
Its clear that the UK are happy with over 50k deaths a year from this.
I feel the NHS is being deliberately allowed to crash to private companies will be allowed in to 'save us'.
Glad to see the rally in SP and a positive change of focus from Novacyt,
In terms of SP rise, I'll keep my powder dry as its on the back of nothing and we've been here before, if it runs into a positive RNS great, if not anyone's guess could well drift back down.

I'm double jabbed, tested positive for covid today, feel crap, need to self isolate for 10 days.
Covid numbers started increasing quickly. We will follow whats happening in Europe in a couple of weeks.
Expect some restrictions to be reintroduced prior to Christmas

@B2H, the development of the tests you quoted would be no more difficult than covid tbh.
I think developing tests for cancer would be more risky and probably would cost significantly more to develop.
Novacyt appears to be targeting low hanging fruit atm, which is fine.
Relatively easy to develop and produce, nice to see they are pushing the non covid business more now too

Yes, you're right B2H, there's a plethora of tests like this that Currently are both subjective and quite time consuming. Novacyt have the answers antimicrobial resistance is 1 of the biggest threats mankind faces atm. Isolating, identifying and establishing their sensitivity pattern Currently takes days, if not longer.
Novacyt have the technology to do this in a matter of hours. Its a far cry from when I used to work in a microbiology lab.
These advances both improve patient outcomes and reduce costs for the hospital. Its a no brainer.
Novacyt are asking their customers now, what causes you the biggest problems and how can we help.
Noticed C difficile testing has now been added to their catalogue, this is doublely important as its a KPI for labs.
I'll say it again this technology is game changing, improved patient outcomes, reduced costs for the hospital, there's no downside.
I put my money into this based on this projected future, if you can be arsed going back thru my posts, I've said a few times that covid is a, lucrative, distraction.
There's a long way to go with the testing novacyt offer. Its rough atm but they have good cash flow, aren't going bust anytime soon.
Be patient. Let it sit and see where we end up

What is it that you are trying to achieve?
You denigrate the company on every post. Are you trying to encourage current holders to sell ?
Most of us on here bought in with the hope of future long term gains, personally I'm holding, I share info and insights that may be useful to other holders, whats your motivation?

@Valju, pretty sure I didn't say to write it off. Novacyt have taken it off their books, so the worst case scenario has been factored in.
Thats not to say novacyt are walking away from this, far from it. They feel they have a good case and it will play out in due course but in terms of MCAP and SP they have let the market know about it, so clean slate

The whole debacle of DHSC will get resolved in due course.
Novacyt did have meetings with Bethell prior to contract, so I suspect they are tangled up with the GLP case.
I Don't think that Novacyt have much to worry about, they supplied the tests as requested but I don't think this will be resolved until that case is resolved. Novacyt have already written this off, so any positive outcome is a bonus

I'm pleased to see novacyt attending lots of trade shows of late, I think this is probably DA exerting his influence and novacyt seem to be going into sales mode, which has, to date, been sadly lacking.
I hope we are now moving past the 'hiding our light under a bushel' mode and getting out there telling the world how great they are.
I'm also pleased, that the trade shows are highlighting the different areas of application for this technology, not just Covid.
Covid, eventually will reach a level of equilibrium as flu does.
It will still provide novacyt a steady income stream, in perpetuity probably.
However we now see that novacyt are pushing other future potential revenue streams.
So DA may not be the chattiest and the silence is odd, but I can see his influence and change of direction which is good to see. He could be the type to say judge me on my actions, not my words.
I've noticed a definite shift. Let's see if we can start to land decent contracts in non covid areas, would quieten a lot of sceptics about nova being a 1 trick pony.

Just trying to make the point that we shouldn't read too much into vacancies. Over the last year the workforce has expanded significantly.
There will be turnover of staff for a host of reasons, just think we shouldn't read too much into it now there's such an expanded workforce

Ppl will come and go. Its just normal turnover.
A funny thing I've noticed on here recently is that ppl are scrutinising every minute detail and making all kind of assumptions. Don't over think stuff.
This board has taken on a different complection of late which is interesting.
Personally, after nearly a year on here, I have a good steer on who's who, I read posts from those I know to be proper ppl and skip the rest
Now before anyone accuses me of putting my fingers in my ears and carrying on regardless.
I know my sh1 t, I know the potential of both this technology and this company to deliver it.

Just been speaking to a couple of ex colleagues.
Covid rates are sky rocketing again, hospitals already struggling and flu A is now in country but levels atm are mercifully low.
The interim Promate order won't last much longer, be interesting to see what the winterplex test from novacyt has to offer.
I never make predictions about share price but anyone thinking we are out of this can kiss my ass.
