Mate, what do you want us to say?
You've gone all in on Novacyt and it's not quite working out the way you anticipated...yet.
You took a punt, we all did, looked rosy for a while then the government moved the goalposts and lots of us got burned.
You have a few choices in front of you now.
You cut your losses, take it on the chin, learn from it and move on
You let your investment sit, possibly for a few years and see where it takes you
Or you double down, fill your boots at this price, reduce your average price.

Now this all depends on you, are you feeling lucky ? What does your own research tell you, do you still believe that Novacyt is going to become a player or disappear like a fart in the wind ?
Personally I know my view, whats yours ?

All the vaccines administered thus far were primarily targeted against the original Wuhan strain which doesn't even exist anymore.
It's been proven that the vaccine is less effective against Delta variant, no new vaccines against the delta variant have yet been given to the population.
We will constantly be playing catch up with this. The effectiveness of the original vaccine is now waning and elderly double jabbed ppl are again starting to succumb to covid again.

Covid isn't going anywhere I'm afraid, its here to stay, its still taking over a 100 lives each and every day and its not seasonal. I think the media have stopped reporting on it. Just because its not being mentioned on the news doesn't mean it's not happening

@hillseeker, co prep currently is designed for promate use but they have already said it will be able to be used for other tests in the future.
Co prep simply removes the requirement for manual pipetting to prepare samples before analysis.
Accurate pipetting with very small volumes is actually very difficult and requires very skilled staff to do this consistently to get quality results.
Co prep will be completely independent of the analytical platform, so could be used for any number of different analysers.
Like the Q machines, co prep just needs a new program to be loaded to change protocols.
Another benefit of this, i suspect, is that it will enable novacyt to reduce manufacturing costs for their kits.
Promate kits will be more expensive to manufacture than the original exsig kits.
Using co prep would remove all the early issues users had with exsig as all the complex pipetting stages will now be automated, thus removing any user issues.
All this can now be delivered with a very small physical footprint so no need for lots of space.
Novacyt are clearly listening to feedback from users and as usual responding in ultra quick times to knock down any barriers that prevent uptake of their equipment.
I think we all need to start thinking bigger than the UK NHS market.
The technology that they are developing now can be successfully deployed in almost any scenarios you could care to think of.
A small crate with versalab, co prep and reagents could bring centralised lab quality results to remote villages in Africa if required.
Thats quite the accolade for such a new company and its not just human issues that it could be used for. Animal husbandry like foot and mouth outbreaks etc.
Hang on in, there's a lot more to come, this is just the beginning

Something I omitted from post, which potentially could make a material difference to Novacyt.
Let's not forget that the government has committed billions to improved community based testing for covid.
In this market there are no other serious players that can match Novacyts Q machines with Co Prep.
Nothing comes close. It's exactly the market that these instruments were designed for.
It's not a shoe in by any means but logic, by normal rational thoughts, would mean that Novacyts offering would be hard to ignore.
All that said, logic doesn't appear to be the governments strong suit.
At least now, after Owen Patersons departure, Randox won't just be foisted in.
I think novacyt has a good chance at a slice of this. Not getting my hopes up given whats happened previously but, as I've said previously, wouldn't be a bit surprised if they get selected.
I'm not that bothered atm if we are considered a covid stock.
Its getting their instruments thru the door and creating a nice platform that can be built upon.
Lots still to play for with this stock.

Just FYI, covid admissions to hospital are increasing exponentially again sadly, I take no pleasure from this btw but anyone who thinks that covid is behind us is sadly mistaken.
The noise coming from our lamentable 'government' is simply not being honest with the general public.
The most important measures to keep an eye on are hospital admissions and sadly deaths, both of which are rising again, there will be a bit of a lull after the half term school break but the deaths are starting to mount up again.
The UK figures are abysmal when compared to Europe and now we just seem to accept it, again another year where 50k excess deaths is just fine.

Personally I'm not really that arsed but I just get miffed when I see others talking absolute B@11@cks.
I'll reiterate what I said last night.
1) 100s of Q machines already deployed into the UK NHS market, other countries do exist, so in total many more are out there.
2) These Q machines have proven to be both usable, efficient and accurate.
3) Said instrumentation is now well established, embedded and now providing a valuable role in the fight against Covid. The labs I'm in contact with are using it for AED patients.
4) Given the breadth of the Novacyt catalogue of tests, labs are already looking at how else they can use these instruments, or indeed buy more of them.
5) Novacyt are engaging with their user base to find out how they can help in other areas, of which there are many.
6) The Q instruments are now a gateway to changing the method of delivery for diagnostics, instead of centralised lab testing, it can now be reliably used as a point of care test.
7) CoPrep makes this even easier and removes user error.
8) Novacyt are far and away the leaders in this new field of diagnostics.
9) Their remit goes way beyond human infectious diseases, quicker cancer diagnosis, animal testing, environmental testing, food production industries, honestly the list goes on
10) They have a very healthy revenue stream from Promate that will continue, IMHO for AT LEAST another 2 years globally
11) They are now embedded in the UK NHS market, they can leverage this platform to sell a greater variety of tests into this market and are asking their users to help shape this development.
12) It's very early days, mistakes have been made but its never anything to do with the R&D, which is what they are best at.

I posted a reminder about the facts of where Novacyt are and what they have already achieved, it was neither controversial, ramping, deramping or anything but it was contrary to the other posts in the thread 'Cash' by Shell someone. Yet again the whole thread was deleted and then restarted again by shelly.
I'm beginning to think that no one on here actually wants to here facts and reality, starting to get a bit paranoid, perhaps if I slated novacyt and said they will be a quid in a few weeks, the posts would stay up, its almost as if there's an orchestrated campaign atm

@John2015, the only thing I've seen is that Novacyt were one of the companies that Bethell met with, effectively off the record, was reported in the guardian last year

With the greatest of respect to Mandy, she is just an employee, she's not a director etc.
The comments I read on here about her on occasion are completely out of order.
She has a job to do and will be told what to release, what she can and cannot say etcetera. To target an individual employee and venting anger from disgruntled investors is bang out of order.

For the most part I agree with what you have said, but sceptical that this would take place in each individual GP practice, really wouldn't make financial sense tbh. That said, this could well be a role for the community diagnostic hubs.
I would expect initially that the hubs will be just testing for Covid as thats the pressing issue atm. In time these hubs could develop and mature and start to expand their repertoire.
This would require companies like novacyt to make test kits that are as easy to use as Promate, which tbh isn't out of the question.
There is a lot more to this though, you can't just bung 1 of the Q machines in and off you go, there's a whole quality management system that needs to be put in place otherwise we could end up with another situation like immensa, the veracity of the results needs to be assured.
I don't want to pour cold water on your idea but I'm trying to add a little realism.
BUT I agree this is an area that novacyt can exploit.
In acute care one of the KPI markers is rapid diagnosis of sepsis, currently this can take anywhere from 48 to 72hrs + by the time a confirmation of what organism is causing the sepsis and which antibiotics will kill said organism.
These are phenotypic observations, what Novacyt has the potential to do is look for genotyic analysis.
So instead of actually having to grow and identify the organism, then test it to see which antibiotics are of use, they can just look for the genes instead, identify the organism and any resistant genes, this would literally save days and save millions of lives each and every day globally.
As this technology improves over the coming years, becoming smaller and more specific I can see the day when if you have an infected wound for example, they could take a swab, dab it onto a USB stick and within 10 mins or probably less it could tell you what is causing the infection and what antibiotics are going to work.
Science fiction??, I don't think so, I can see this happening in my lifetime.
This, globally would save trillions and also save ppl dying, having amputations and all the associated morbidity that this entails.
Novacyt are in the box seat to make things like this happen

@kaeren, I wouldn't worry about it, most of us have made, seemingly logical, predictions and been wrong.
Novacyt, with the appointment of a new CEO is probably going to go through quite a change.
GM and his team, if we're being honest, did an absolutely remarkable job taking this company from 12p a share to, at 1 point £12 a share in a very short space of time.
Their technical expertise has never been called into question.
However, given the dispute with DHSC and how long its dragged on, may have exposed some inexperience from the BOD. This isn't a criticism per se but they were pushed into an arena that was well outside of their comfort zone.
So, perhaps to take novacyt to the next stage, they need more seasoned directors who are used to operating at this level. If we are to get to a midcap market and become a serious player a shift change is necessary.
Difficult for all those directly involved but for us, as shareholders, probably welcomed.
I expect a few months of volatility as DA shapes his new management team but maybe this is the change that was required to move us on past the DHSC debacle and build for the future.
I'm happy to sit and wait, I've always believed in this company and what they do, a management change doesn't change this.
I'm hoping we get a fair stab at the new community diagnostic hubs or phase 2 as we would call it.
I said in a post a couple of weeks ago that I wouldn't be in the least surprised if this came back onto the agenda. I hope I'm right, Q machines and now with co prep are made for this, they can't put mainstream analysers into these hubs.
If I were braver, I would now go all in on novacyt in anticipation of them getting this contract.

I've got no problem with high value individuals being employed.
They are usually worth their corn and in the scheme of things its a relatively low outlay, chicken feed, if you will, pun intended.
Novacyt already has the best R&D team. Patents are being filed with Novacyt employees named on them.
They deserve to be well rewarded, if you fail to recognise their efforts, they will go to where they think they will be valued. Most important asset to any company is the employees, treat them well and pay them what they are worth, I'm all for it personally
