The truth is, that we’ve had no actual explanation from anyone in respect of time-frame since the last submissions in April 2018. Only KB made reference to the election potentially delaying the issue.

It’s like the millennium bug, waiting for the Big Bang... And then... nothing! The election is just another hurdle or low ball cast our way. I’m not convinced it will make much difference. We live in hope...

Blurred lines... civil servants don’t change... they don’t have a summer recess like politicians or get booted out of government every 4-years. They should be working on this continuously.

Absolutely... and with a mandate for 4-years, let’s hope that get on with it and push it through. It’s only a signature!

It shouldn’t come to this really... waiting on an election outcome. I certainly want pro-mining parties in power, but the reality is, even if they are not, what low-ball could they possibly come up with to refuse?

Polls are notoriously unreliable... They are very flawed. We’ll know more on Monday...

Very true... The thing about principled people, is that they are often ‘selectively’ principled. It’s ok to scorch the earth in Africa to produce metals and minerals for phones, cars and dare I say, skidoo. But god forbid it occurs in Sweden! Strange when you consider the strict environmental controls, which will ensure an environmentally friendly project

And you are correct... should the application be refused, then it won’t be seen to be as a consequence of politics. Though we know that would be a misrepresentation of the truth!

There are various scenarios etc. This will be decided by the rule of law, but as we know, the boundaries between law and party politics are blurred. The outgoing administration was a minority coalition between the Swedish Democrats and Green Party, with the SD being propped up by the Greens (As in the DUP propping up the Tories for concessions etc). In Sweden, you do not need a majority to govern, unlike the UK, where even a coalition needs a majority. The SD have fallen considerably in the polls, which means a minority coalition with the Green party wouldn’t work this time. The political implication is that the Green Party have used mining as a ‘concession’. Another scenario, popular on FB amongst Swedish investors, is that since the last submissions in April, and based on the experience of other mining companies, is that the application is now ‘on-track’, and would be expected to take 1-year. Time will tell...
