As a mining country, Sweden falls well in reputation. It shows the Frasier Institute's annual survey.
"There is still room for improvement," notes a company that participated in the survey.
The survey asks mining companies from all over the world about their views on different mining countries.
This year's edition is gloomy reading for Swedish companies in the sector. Sweden races to seat 16 out of 91 in terms of how attractive it is considered to be investing, from place 8 last year.
Top of the list is Finland, which climbs from location 5 2016.
In the Institute's Policy Perception Index, Sweden returns to place four, from third place the year before. However, it is noted that Sweden has belonged to the top ten in the last six surveys.
"Sweden has a stable system, but there is still room for improvement. Investors are concerned about state delays, elaborate legal disputes and inconsistent environmental regulations," writes an exploration company that is included anonymously in the survey.
