It's not just the manufacturing, it's the cost - none of these inferior tests are as cheap. There's been no breakthrough and even if there had, there's plenty cash to get a share of. $75Bn in the US and 25m tests are needed. £5Bn in the UK. Just two countries....

Spot on B2, despite the papers having a pop, the govt are using their initiatives to accelerate getting tests out there, it’s what they need to do and precisely what Condor/falcon is supposed to deliver. The optigene test was trialled and they’ve now gone for it. BAMS is following the same route and the LFD will follow.

This BB is insane, wild swings of optimism to despair. Few new faces today stoking the fire... interesting. Remember they’re trying to do a year’s work in months and still get an incredible product. The govt can’t keep their feet up, they have to go with whatever is available, when an improved product comes along, they’ll switch. They’ve got £5Bn to spend and it’s going nowhere.

That’s only care homes and hospitals and it’s a swab test. Awacta are producing a mass screening test, there is no other.

If they’ve got 3 tests using saliva, have we got 2 out of 3? The LFD and BAMS can use saliva as the test sample medium.

If you’ve got Covid, pretty much anything and everything you touch will have the virus on it. The govt suggest separate bins and leaving things at least 3 days for domestic waste, I can’t see why a test would be different. It’d be nice to have a solution for environmental reasons as I’m hoping for financial reasons we’re about to create hundreds of millions of pieces of plastic.

It’s an ongoing prospective study, so the end date doesn’t say anything other than they want some better test options before then.

There’s a lot of adults knocking around if you look carefully. Quite a few children too - they’re the smaller version. Probably best to get an Awacta to check if you find yourself with a cold and similar symptoms. That’s a lot of tests.

That’s why I’m hoping they go down the rockerfeller fella route and include N2 Ct figures, to demonstrate that it’s perfect for finding people at their viral load peak regardless of symptoms. The test is needed to find people early, not detect RNA three weeks after the event like PCR.
