That’s how I read it. They’re getting it right so they don’t suffer later when the global demand turns up via the licensing deals. Only a matter of time before the cash starts rolling in. Don’t forget Trump ordering 150m tests in one order from one company as a single example in a single country. A quid a test will do me if the majors are pumping out our tests all over the planet

What a surprise - no surprises. It's a summary of information we've already received. What else was it going to be? That doesn't change anything. It doesn't introduce delays until next year and in the same way it doesn't mean everything will be available next week. They're taking their time to get it right. Sorry to the fast buck brigade. They've said they're getting the process right so it's easier to pass to new global partners. They believe that the boat won't be missed - it certainly looks that way if you consider the mess the UK is as an example.

The govt are currently looking at what is available as they always will as they’ve no other choice. If the gargle test helps with schools they’ll use it. They’ve spoken about the holy grail of an LFD but it’s not there yet. We know that. There’s no issue with other tests taking up the slack in the meantime. A test that involves a piece of kit isn’t a home test and drooling in a pot that then goes in the post takes a lot longer than 15 mins to get a result.

So they’re currently looking at a kit that involves returning a pot and a turnaround of 5 hours and the test from Israel that needs a bit of kit. They’ve always said they’ll replace tests will others as they become available. The current options aren’t the LFD game changer.
