Boris sat at his special table last night talking about the hope and dream of having a rapid antigen test. We've had other people (matt handjob, prof bell, lord bethell) talking about the holy grail of saliva testing and rapid lateral flow tests. Awacta are in the govt's Condor programme which is ramping up operations right now.

Govts clearly don’t care about the long term impact, they want a way out of this mess and if that involves using a few billion more bits of plastic, so be it. No one is on a high horse, I think it’d be great if they could use a compostable case, but if they can’t - whatever, the main thing is that I become exceedingly rich.

This has been discussed before. Throwing away a test you’ve spat all over is no different to chucking away the phlegm filled tissues or anything else anyone with Covid touches. The govt have already provided advice. Double bag it and leave it a few days before disposing of it the same way as anything else. All this talk of viral inactivation for an at home test is utter nonsense when those infected have been sat for days spraying the inside of their house with the virus.

Personally, I’m hoping they have been working with Abingdon to use their compostable casings. Even if they end up being incinerated, at least it’ll be less damaging. It’s a bit late to have concerns about single use plastics - there have been billions of disposable PPE created and billions more to come. At least this could be one thing that could help reduce producing millions (ideally billions) of plastic LFDs.

Evening Kainos, apologies, got lost in a Deepverge. A fantastic rise today, all well deserved as we build in anticipation for the reveal on Thursday. I got dragged in to the office today, but the good news is that it has meant I’m now free on Thursday so I can watch the presentation, can’t wait. Looking forward to more of the same share price action tomorrow. The potential here is huge

There is no delay, we’re within expected timeframes for tech transfer. The antibody test was trialled via post with results returned via a website, I can’t imagine any scenario that the govt would delay the holy grail for an unnecessary app.

Speaking as a taxpayer I think it's hugely shortsighted not to include the asymptomatic as that's how the virus is spreading. This will result in it being dragged out for longer and further damage to the economy and ultimate taxpayers. They should test everyone at least weekly through the winter and scale it back once monitoring and an effective app is in place.

The agreement is for the supply of affimers. It’s not about a lion’s portion. There was an article suggesting $15 a month per unit for reagents. It will hopefully become a steady and sizeable revenue stream for Awacta as Deepverge will have a global presence in wastewater testing.

Today is just a bit of MM fun. We’ve had the govt advisors come out and say we’ll be lucky to get a vaccine going by the middle of next year and that the next 6 months are going to be difficult as the colder months are wonderful for respiratory illnesses. All screams for mass screening to allow some normality over the winter and beyond. Who cares about the price bobbling about in the meanwhile. It’s just a matter of time before everything falls in to place.

Affimers are highly specific, so let’s hope as close to 100% as possible in tandem with specificity that’s lower according to the traditional comparison but crucially 100% during the infectious period. The perfect mass screening test. It can then be used in combination with confirmatory testing without overwhelming PCR/BAMS capacity - which should be up to 500,000 a day by then. Anyway, why listen to me, when that’s EXACTLY what Sir Al said in an RNS:

I’ve thought that about Gezza, but he seems happy enough it’s all within the rules. Mustn’t grumble as it’s great to have communication on what’s to come. There’s obviously an absolute gem in the presentation. Which is nice :-)
