It’s actually fantastic news if the wet blanket brigade weren’t busy changing their sheets. Until now the WHO hasn’t recommended rapid antigen tests, this is the first time I’ve heard of them being positive about them. It only bodes well. They’ll be wanting to recommend the best, once Awacta’s performance figures are available, we can probably add the WHO and Bill Gates to the list of Sir Al’s fan base.

Sir Al has said they’d communicate results in relation to the infectious period. It was fantastic to hear him say that as I emailed him a while back asking him if that would be the case. Mikey, it might feel like it’s a reset to some and farewell to the impatient. Personally, I’m more comfortable with something realistic but that’s worth the wait. Progress has been made and as you’ve said we’re now in the great position where news can drop any day without any expectations or hype. Goodbye traders, hello investors.

It’s got to be one of the weirdest reactions to a CEO saying they’re taking to the govt to supply 100m tests for at least a year and that with additional partners, that they’re currently carrying out due diligence on, they’ll be able to help meet global demand and that they’re also looking to white label the test completely to OEMs to the point they’re producing hundreds of millions per month. Plus a few other bits and bobs... it’s madness. There’s one remaining technical hurdle, very much underway, and then the first 10,000 tests take us off to the races. I couldn’t care less what the MMs get up to. Finncap are suggesting £3 up to £8 just based on the 2 suppliers in place. This is huge.

I’ve posted multiple times Cytiva were not an LFD manufacturer, they’ve got a website that explains what they offer. As depressing as it is, Sir Al thinks social distancing measures will be in place well in to next year, possibly 2021. He’s in discussions with the govt to provide the holy grail. Until Awacta’s tests or their affimer powered equivalents are ubiquitous globally it’s difficult to see the end currently. Given we’ve had a mutation, we should probably expect more to come. Despite the talk of a second wave, we’re still really only stumbling through the first one. An unbelievable opportunity for Awacta, but a miserable thought nonetheless.
