Perhaps Sir Al has watched our mates Sona with interest and noted that the FDA aren’t too quick out of the blocks with approvals. The slow and cumbersome UK govt might be the quicker option and with a firm nod towards 120m, why worry about anything else in the short term?

We all know it’s not us as every news article mentions lamp and we’ve seen the govt procurement on the innova LFDs, but there’s a persistent insistence it’s us. It’s all a bit back to front, the regulars are having to post it isn’t us and the price is solid despite the govt buying competitor tests. In weeks gone buy, we’d have wildly speculated it is us and the price would have slumped. Aim remains an utter mystery. As time rumbles on we’re getting closer to news that’ll give us a lift.

BAMS will provide more assurance of the incredible abilities of affimers and as it has been through condor procurement shouldn’t be far behind if not in parallel. Tech transfer continues, news on that will confirm that all technical risk has gone. We’ll then be firmly on the way to the moon

Hi Jay, yeah, from the guardian article these won’t be used for asymptomatic, that testing will be the lamp tests. Looks like these nasal swab LFDs will just be used to pilot the logistics of using LFDs so everything is good to go for the real game changer

They’re not that fussy, the innova LFD tests they’ve bought are manufactured in China for a US company. Not convinced by Sona as the Canadian govt have first dibs on theirs.

I wouldn’t use BAMS as the reference... I think Sona took about 4 weeks, but I’d expect hope we’d be faster with the current prevalence and now condor has sites in place.

They’re not famed for being in a rush. RNS about BAMS or tech transfer next, there’s validation to get through before Bojo waves an Awacta at the press.

Until we’re on this page, there’s nothing to get excited about, but ramp to your heart’s content. The govt are indeed helping to ramp up UK production, but they’re not buying anything from Awacta until they’ve been validated.

I wouldn’t expect the first order to be monumental for a couple of reasons. If the govt slung a few billion our way there’d be uproar of some kind about the procurement process and secondly until we’ve got more manufacturing partners in place we wouldn’t meet demand that would cause more negativity. I’d expect a similar sized order, the test will prove its worth whilst we ramp up and then the big one will land - 30m a week please Sir Al
