BAMS is closer than it was, that’s absolutely certain. Nothing fundamental has changed. Gutted I’ve no spare cash as I’d already bought back, told you I wasn’t any good at trading, fomo is a nightmare.

TL, that’s fair. Sir Al has been learning on the job. In ordinary circumstances they’d have probably taken a couple of years of faffing and been quite pleased at how quick they’ve been. I think he’s been naive and his inexperience has shown, but we’ve all got to start somewhere. I’d start by learning the about the seasons and build up to using a calendar. Despite the lack of experience they’re getting there. They’re a very small company trying to achieve something that hasn’t been achieved anywhere yet so some forgiveness should be granted. Given their limited resources they’re spinning a lot of plates with a huge amount of pressure on them. Getting in bed with the uk govt hasn’t been a great option for BAMS, but as I posted earlier today, hoping to get approvals elsewhere could have resulted in the same delays without the pot of gold at the end. Condor are gradually removing their digit from their posterior, so here’s hoping that we move through validation swiftly. Beyond that, it’s about ramping up that capacity as the govt have shown they’re not shy in writing cheques and we’ll have the best test on the planet.

That would have been the headline if Sir Al had sold a bunch just after Bojo handed over a comedy sized cheque for billions. Best to get his personal finances sorted out now so the red top rags haven’t got anything to get excited about. We’re now all clear for the newsflow that will see us as the saviour of the universe

Why is it a hedge when you’d expect them to be positively correlated? Success for Awacta will result in success for airlines etc. At that point it’s about judging where the greater return is in percentage terms. Some of them have dropped by 2/3rds so there’s plenty upside. They won’t get immediately back to previous levels, but you could imagine them doubling in reasonably short order so as soon as you feel that the future growth of Awacta is less than double it’s worth shifting cash. No idea when that will be and if I tried I would get the timing right in a million years, but it’s something I’ll be monitoring.

They’re continuing to produce variations of their test. They’ve got a freeze dried test which looked a good concept, they’re working on an automated version, sounds good, they’re using saliva as a sample, nice, today confirming a POC version, marvellous. No sales though....

Perhaps snuggling in with Bojo and Handjob wasn’t a bad move for Awacta. A guaranteed pot of cash has to be better than joining FDA and WHO queues in the hopes of global sales. Sona are still waiting for FDA approval months later. The jealous whingers might look at Ncyt and thinking they’ve stolen a march, but their £250m contract would only be equivalent to less than 1 week of LFD sales. 3 weeks in to Q4, not long now.
