Here’s a another thought (/excuse) regarding timescales being out of their hands. PresAl mentioned they’re working with Porton Down on variants. Given the Brazil and SA variants and possibly others are being classified as VOCs, they might need to wait for that feedback. The DPS requires both CV and VOC validation. They might be sat with the CV in the bag waiting for a PD tick in the box. Just a bit more wild speculation to throw in the mix...

The previous placing was leaked and a previous broker note contained details of a likely timescale for test optimisation. Absolutely no doubt they’re given additional information. The timing argument is still as weak as ever, but if everyone keeps saying it, maybe it’ll be true this time.

The earlier briefing is to sell side analysts so we should see some broker notes soon afterwards, at the least from Turner and his trusty dog Pope and from Finndy Cap. In the past the wording in the notes have provided clues of what’s actually going on. So as TL has said, they clearly get given additional information than the filtered fluffy vague waffle that the investors get. Charming. The market action that day will be interesting. If we’re truly in the verge of greatness, then those analysts will be straight on the phone to their clients to inform them to buy.

I’d prefer the former. I don’t mind missing deadlines as things change and sh.t happens, but the vagueness and needing to play guessing games to fill in gaps isn’t ideal for me. That’s their style though, so we’ll stay in the dark for now... the comfort is in the recent interview and the stone cold confidence and certainty that it will be delivered.

It leaves the small matter of when, but a few weeks(/months/quarters) here and there won’t matter. The boat is still waiting. 800k new cases yesterday, frightening as it’ll encourage more variants.
