There are 2 fears.

Fear that the reason we've not heard is because something has gone horribly wrong - rather than the prevalence rates falling both here and in Spain resulting in it taking longer than the deliberately vague timeline. PresAl did not look concerned in any way shape or form the last time we saw him.

Fear of missing out.

For all the moaning, whinging, repetitive 'are we nearly there yet?' posts, none of them will sell out as the FOMO outweighs the fear of any possible reasons behind a delay. It's a great reason to ignore the same old posts as no matter how much they're whinging, they're still holding and that's because when push comes to shove they believe it'll be worth the wait.

I think they’re based on averages as acknowledged but I think the argument is perfectly sound. If anything mass testing could have a disproportionately higher impact on reducing r as the rate of spread is not uniform. If, as suggested, there are super spreading individuals - isolating those as soon as possible using lateral flow tests would have a large impact on suppressing the virus.

Once the hangovers have gone, you’re left with a bunch of scientists kicking about twiddling their thumbs, probably on furlough... or they’ll have cracked straight on with the continued collaboration with Mologic on the S/N test. The joint working practices they’ll have established will have given them a running start so I’m sure development will be faster than the AN test. My best guess would be it’ll turn up as soon as possible during the summer, so in a few weeks.

My word you’re a bore. I thought the sealion was bad. There isn’t a single country on the planet that is fully back to normal, everywhere open, social distancing gone, borders open. Common sense tells you the needs for mass screening is currently unlimited in demand as supply can’t meet it. The global supply chain is 120m LFDs per day. There are 7.8Bn humans on the planet. I don’t need to justify anything to someone that’s so utterly gormless they can’t apply common sense.

I’ve never presented anything as a done deal. If it was risk free the price would be higher, wouldn’t it? If the price is at a level that I find attractive, I’ll add more. Why that’s your business I’ve no idea. I have enough in here for it to be life changing, I’m prepared to lose it. I’m very interested in both the short and long term. You seem confused by someone being capable of accepting risk. You clearly can’t cope and feel the need to share. Shame.
