They just want confirmation that they’re going to start making something. They were given similar grand promises and contracts for the pointless antibody test that ended up canned.

I don’t see much risk when it comes to the govt here. There’s a question mark over using their capacity, but if the margins are higher elsewhere, who cares? I see anything govt related to be a bonus on top of selling in to Europe to meet the significant demand. I get the impression PresAl is pig sick of them faffing about and like everyone else just wants our test on sale asap

Spot on Craig - given the bulk of their volume will come from the govt using govt equipment, chances are they'll only make pennies per test. How much does a swipe of pritt stick cost?

I've already said on the other thread to doze, ISO is not on the critical path. The product will be launched once Mologic have CE marked the test. This will happen 'shortly'.

As for the govt, they can crack on, the DPS isn't a closed book. I wouldn't be surprised to see the first lot(s) go elsewhere - after all, we haven't got a CE marked test yet. Also, they might want to go with more than one until they've been fully proven in the wild in a similar way to Phase 4.

Each one of the sticky backed plastic companies have their own capacity and they will have govt supplied capacity. They are completely separate things. ODious will make Visitect with their own capacity. They will make AN-Other test with the gov capacity and the name of that test - be that AffiDx or Visi-NotAsGood - makes no difference. The govt will pay them the same for the use of their glue guns.

Getting ISO accreditation is not on the critical path to launch. Mologic will CE mark the test and then transfer it once Abakta have their own ISO in place. There will be no delays relating to ISO.

No idea, they're a bit weird and obsessed about the test they make for the govt when ultimately it doesn't matter - they'll get paid the same. As it happens ABDX is a better bet. Very cheap right now.

Wiggly, why would the govt be involved in the launch of our independently launched CE marked LFD that will be sold throughout Europe and beyond?

Even if we are part of the govt plans, I wouldn't be surprised to see the first lots to end up elsewhere - as things stand, we haven't got a CE marked test... It would be beyond a miracle for Mologic and the govt to coordinate everything so that we get our CE mark just in the nick of time for Bojo and fwiends.

There's no 'deadline'. Covid is still rampaging around the globe and PresAl hasn't got a boss lurking over his shoulder, just a few whingers repeating the same stuff on here. Mologic know what they're doing and it'll turn up 'in due course' and as someone that's held for over a 'king year, that's good enough for me - can you imagine actually having an actual test that's actually been launched??

It’s a follow up to the recent consultation. It’s a good thing as it removes all the garbage from the market and you’re left with a short list of LFDs to buy and a 100/100 at ct < 27 is pretty decent.... I can’t see any mention of freezers so we should be ok

Just wondering why #InColinWeTrust made a specific mention of self swabs when the FindDx document made no reference of that at all. It mentions two test sites and 5 operators. Incidentally, given the Mologic test is an AN test I’d see this as a positive result for our test. It’s good to see a study in the real world for this sample type - if indeed it was. There’s no reason that anyone’s ability to take an AN sample would be any less consistent for our test. As discussed earlier, the larger read window without any cut offs and risk of false positives should make it perform better in the real world.
