JRDC, a very sensible post. No offence but part of our problem on here is that we all too often see what we wish for rather than what is likely. The suggestion of a delay due to the recent state funeral was a classic case in point.

He comes across as 'wet' but he'll probably survive as those around him will rally with the "He's such a hard worker" line which they seem to be going with. Imo, the problem throughout has been that we have had a bunch of populists at the helm, too afraid to go with difficult and unpopular decisions, where strong leadership was needed.

sleepydave, I'm with you but one thing that does amuse me is to see how many of those who were telling us just a few months ago what a totally untrustworthy "liar" Cummings is (which I agree with) - but today they seem so keen to hang-onto and believe every single one of his words because it suits their political agenda. A sign of our times I guess.

I tend to agree with Myles's thoughts on avoiding selling to the present UK government. Even as a swing voter who traditionally leans towards the Conservatives, it is fairly evident to me that they seem very keen to undertake 'box ticking' exercises ("Ordering" - even where that involves inferior products) but less so to cross the T's and dot the i's ( paying the bills). This can largely be put down to the former garnering a greater degree of PR, imo. I'm afraid that mentality starts at the top.

Can you elaborate on why it needs to be more than "that simple"? To my way of thinking, they eventually use LFT's to identify Covid carriers and anyone who tests positive will be PCR tested to identify the variant - new or otherwise.

Serious and fair question: How concerned should we be with all this talk of selling into Europe when we do not even have a recognised sales force on the continent?

I've just bought back in on the strength of the likely CE timing but it's a punt for me.

Havealot, therein lies the likely reason for this woeful offering, imo.

I'm a former holder here but this story has really angered me. Whilst Avacta's SP has served many well, the LFT development has often felt like pulling teeth - and still does. This is potentially a great British company which - to my way of thinking - does not appear to have been given the govt support that it should have received. AS's pie in the sky deadlines have only added to the feeling of anger. Fair play to Innova but the sight of the British government putting money into the pockets of a company in China after all that has happened on the Covid front almost seems obscene. Avacta will undoubtedly get their test to market - most likely with the CE RNS tomorrow or Thursday - but I am still left to rue what could have been when thinking back to my excitement and belief at this time last year. I wish you guys well.

Summary

· The boards of Trieste Acquisitions Holding Limited ("Bidco") and Telit Communications plc ("Telit") are pleased to announce that they have reached agreement on the terms of a recommended cash offer to be made by Bidco for the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Telit other than the Telit Shares held by funds managed by DBAY (the "Acquisition").

· Under the terms of the Acquisition, each Scheme Shareholder will be entitled to receive:

220 pence in cash per Scheme Share (the "Cash Offer")

· Based on the Cash Offer, the Acquisition values the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Telit at approximately £306.9 million, on the basis of a fully diluted share capital of 139,479,677 Telit Shares.

· The Cash Offer represents a premium of approximately:

· 58.5 per cent. to the Closing Price of 138.8 pence per Telit Share on 2 November 2020 (being the last Business Day before the Previous Offer Period began);

I am extremely keen to see AGL grow to its full potential rather than being the target of any early opportunistic takeover. That said, how would it affect our non ISA holdings on the CGT front in the event of an offer the board couldn't refuse? I assume a cash offer would be subject to the usual any profits over £12,300? But what of a share offer? Apologies if I sound like a premature "chicken counter" but better to have all ANGLES covered!
