Firstly, whilst Parsortix could be used as an early highly sensitive (Best in class) cancer-detection system, that is not its intended market, as a little research will tell you. "The Parsortix system is designed to be compatible with existing major molecular analytical platforms and to act as a companion diagnostic for use by major pharma in helping to identify patients that will benefit from a particular drug and there is a large market opportunity for the use of the Parsortix system in cancer drug trials. ANGLE intends that the Parsortix system will eventually be adopted worldwide. Cowen Equity Research estimate the market opportunity for liquid biopsy in the United States alone to be up to US$ 130 billion per annum." We have seen Parsortix used for many important studies but this one is particularly significant, not just for Angle but for the CTC liquid biopsy sector as a whole. There is now evidence that ctDNA and CTCs captured from the same patient will produce different results. This means:-

1) When making decisions regarding which therapy to prescribe or when undertaking drug trials, ctDNA liquid biopsies (GRAIL - basic screening) alone aren't sufficient - a CTC liquid biopsy (AGL - the detailed cell analysis) will be required

2) By comparing the results of ctDNA and CTC biopsies for patients on treatment, physicians may well be able to track the impact of that therapy and make any necessary adjustments. As AN has repeatedly said, the two types of liquid biopsy are complimentary to one another.

I always thought this would be the case, a small but highly justified rise on this news. The "difference" between the "expected hike" in the SP and the "actual" lies not with with the companies releasing such news but with the misguided expectations of AIM holders. Having already seen a fairly recent but minor recovery from the lows of the SP over the past year this will now be driven by the performance of the 'sales team' rather than the launch.

The previous CEO who struck me as a very sincere guy suggested in an interview 5 months or so ago that he'd been shocked by the extent of the fall from the previous highs of last year. He felt the current SP is already covered by European sales alone and takes no account of the potential upon the US launch. Looking at that and the various brokers' valuations, it is fairly obviously that this share is highly undervalued. And those valuations came before the appointment of our new and proven US CEO - and Brian Groch's work with the sales team. Make no mistake, this share may drift again a little in the short term but with a great product which also makes for a very interesting potential target, a US CEO, NASDAQ potential and a new and highly motivated sales team, cash in the bank from a recent fundraise, there is much to like about the medium term potential for this SP - and the MM's know that too. It will rise but most likely under the radar and away from the noise of today's news. I'm holding based upon my own opinions outlined here. DYOR.

I do think that LFT's will eventually play a big part in travel. The danger is that another more technologically complex but convenient and faster "mass testing" product type will hit the market at a reasonable price IE A computer based system at airport gates. I am also not still not convinced that Avacta has the nous to compete in the hugely competitive arena that is today's LFT market - best test or not. That said, they may well pick up a few small contracts in the medium term but the 'personal use' market is where the real money is.

Avacta's huge potential is obviously the Affimer platform. If I was younger and had kids then now is probably a good time to invest here for their future. If taking a short term view, not for me.

Quite a few investors are struggling to logon / register, despite having run the system check. I have been able to register, having successfully run the system check but the site kicks me back to the "Logon or Register" page each time I click on Life Sciences Investor Forum within the Calendar.

Am I right in thinking that I will only be able to log into the actual link on the day itself?

Managed to login after running system check and needing popups enabled. The only presentations I can see on the main page are from 17th June. Did find ours but it kicked me out too. Emailed them and awaiting reply.

It seems to automatically go into "test your browser' mode once you've input your details and then just gets locked into doing that repeatedly. I'll email them tomorrow.

Erm, with hindsight I could've lived with that. We might have hit ten quid and the SP would probably be back where it is now!

Can somebody on ADVFN tell those posters reading more into to this RNS than is actually contained within it that the ONLY reason for this presentation is to promote the company, product and US launch. It will be good to hear from the new CEO and get any update but he will not be adding anything that is not already in the public domain.
