retirement, I think your concerns / caution is valid but I would add that most WW crashes have come about through unexpected events rather than the current crop that most sensible investors are watching very closely. The dangerous one is Taiwan, imo, but even that is something that people are highly aware of and so it would not come as a total surprise. Continuing on this cheerful note :-) the one that could really catch us out, again imo, would be a massive international cyber attack but if we worried to this extent the whole time then we would never invest in anything. Logic suggests that we should be holding back some cash for such events, whilst committing to companies that do show decent prospects during this pre-armageddon period. RR, to my way of thinking is one such outfit - especially with an eye on the current spending review and the nuclear potential herein.

Never invested in this company but if I had I'd be pretty peed-off with those on here bragging about how they sold out earlier. It looks like more luck than judgement in most of their cases.

James, I'm obviously being thick here but I expected the 10% salary outlay to come through the ORDINARY SHARES PURCHASED multiplied by the PRICE PER ORDINARY SHARE? You must feel like a teacher here today but grateful for the incoming correction ;)
