It would have been extremely foolish for AB to say, "We look forward to a successful conclusion if not by the end of the year then certainly in Q1 2023" unless he was supremely confident that the potential partners JOG is negotiating with will know they are equally happy with a very solid deal and there is no danger of them then back-tracking. Otherwise it opens us up through him having publicly shown his hand too early, thus cornering ourselves where ongoing negotiations are concerned. Let us hope that AB's statement reflects him being "supremely confident" rather than the alternative. Having the Ithaca team on board does provide some reassurance.

golferboy, the reason you are seen as a deramper is fairly obvious. Why on earth would anyone spend entire their morning on here running down a share which they thought was going nowhere when their is so much opportunity elsewhere? You clearly have an axe to grind where AGL is concerned or, as is more likely, you are trying to create an entry point for yourself. I am open to any logic you can provide in response to the first part of my question?

I believe their main product (Parsortix) would benefit through the distribution and marketing outlets of a company such as Abbott. IMO, the mistake they are making is in taking too long to generate and implement meaningful commercial partnerships as a first mover. The buyout option would make sense to someone who was looking to buy and market Parsortix whilst shutting down the rest of the operation, imo, so the 15 mil per annum would not matter. The financials do no make for great reading and the SP will continue to drift until such time as income becomes more apparent.

For me, "energy security" is a huge issue and any party, Labour especially, would be playing straight into the likes of Putin's - or any other foreign states' hands - if they were to reduce still further incentives to invest in the North Sea. The need to secure our energy self reliance is paramount imo and anything contrary to that in the short to medium term would be short-sighted in the exteme. Just my opinion though.

Yes, at conferences and via online presentations or preferably AFTER they've published some results. Sorry but some on here seem to think the world revolves around Avacta when most people (professionals included) have never heard of what is just another Life Sciences company testing yet another product in a sea of prospective others, some just as exciting. And, as for NDA's, please! Yet another cloak in which to hide "We don't really know".

It's not just Next. Too many British companies (and others just operating in the UK) go a long way towards 'blame' for the current state we are in. Middle to lower management is often uncaring to the point of being 'short tempered', a result through spending much of their time firefighting and usually through being under-resourced. I include the public sector as much as the private one and speak as someone who worked as a manager but who now occupies a low -level time filling position. I feel so sorry for those who have to do these jobs. The other irksome aspect of many companies here is how they undertake box-ticking exercises, projecting and posting cliched motivational catchphrases to make them seem "caring", most of that literature flies in the face of their treatment of the very employees who they are supposedly aiming them at. I really do despair.

I think they'll be more likely to be "rubbing their hands" to keep warm off the back of that storm.

Interesting comment about Samsung in here. Hopefully they'll be on "thin ice" once in the courtroom.

As stated in the IC, much of the SP here is in the hope of one of the Big Boys coming in with an offer.
