BYP, spot on and thanks for taking the time to post a measured response. I completely agree with your sentiments. Can’t say I will trade it but I applaud you for making that decision. It feels like shorting this share is the way to make some money but I’m not getting involved in that as i am a lth but it seems the way to go. Sad really.

I think I just need to stay calm and ride it out until results day. If we get a boost, possibly sell all/some, if we don’t I guess I’ll have to re-assess. Who knows what the price will be by the end of the month, could be £2, could be £4 depending on what the media get up to over the coming weeks. Crazy rally that the bbc etc control this share price but it’s where we are I guess.

Thanks Brent, appreciate it. I hold my hands up I’ve not covered myself in glory with my negative posts but I’m just reacting to a dire situation. It’s nice to know that there are actually a few, like yourself, supportive people on this board.

Whatever happens, this will make me a better investor long term (if I ever go back into individual stocks), however much loss I crystallise here. I comfort myself by saying that it surely can’t go much below marcap long term so I have a theoretical total loss in my head which I will try to come to terms with.

Brent - thank you, I think I will.. I guess as this is my largest single holding I’m really struggling (not over leveraged overall as have much more in funds, so not all bad) as I see no way out without a huge loss. It’s a novice error but it doesn’t make it easier. I think I’ll bottom drawer it and resolve to sell all on results day, rise or fall.

But by the time we hear anything about sales we could be at £2. Really struggling to think rationally about this stock, right now. How are others coping? Can we still hang onto “it’s all mm’s fault”, “we have a great business”, “£87m cash in bank “ etc.? Maybe our fair value going forward IS £2?

I feel your pain. May not be far behind you. I deserve everything I get for not selling at break even back in November when the omicon hype bumped us to high 4’s.

Not bad given we were meant to have millions a day by now. Cases aren’t important, hospitalisations and icu stats are.

Hans - June? Please god no. If we’re still in the £2’s and £3’s in June I for one will be off with a 40-50% loss and a valuable investing lesson in my back pocket. The problem we have is do any of us LTH’s think that we would answer yes to the following question “would you buy novacyt shares now?”
If we won’t, who the hell else will? II’s aren’t interested. This is ****ing bleak.

It’s not just us. All covid stocks are down, it’s market sentiment.

Brent yes I am but covid is what has paid us. Do we need to drop and dwindle at £2 again post covid in order to pick up with other avenues? As shareholders are we completely blinkered by the rises we saw during covid, and now anything in the £3’s is a good result? I know due to cash in bank etc we shouldn’t be, but we’ve got no idea what they’re doing with that cash, whether we’re actually adding to etc.

WBA all covid test firms are down so for once it’s not just us. No consolation but at least it makes a little more sense than the days others are flying are we are red.

Market sentiment is that things are moving in the right direction. Take airlines, up 10% this morning. Would appear that the new year sentiment is that the very worst covid is in the rear view mirror (data suggests it is) and it’s time for rebounds in other sectors. As such, covid test firms aren’t going to be in favour.

Brent - what do we have other than covid? They don’t really inform us, do they? Accounts prior to 2020 aren’t exactly astonishing, are they? We just have to hope that the BoD are capable of using the covid lotto win wisely. Not saying they’re not, but there’s also nothing to say they are.

Agreed about the negativity today and it’s industry wide as clearly market sentiment is that covid is done (in the sense of no more restrictions, travel going to boom, testing starting to drop off etc.) and everything else seems to be in vogue with the market. It’s great news overall, but worrying for us.
