Kaeren - yes I hear that, you make a good point. I think the problem I have is the modellers coming out with “between 200 and 6000 deaths a day” etc., which is such an enormous range it’s almost like saying there is there is a really low chance of dying today somewhere up to there is a really high chance of dying today, so we best stay in. Generic example but to use such a huge range is almost meaningless but when they are doing it to railroad the government into instant lockdowns, it makes you ask questions. I’ve slated boris throughout but he’s getting this one right. He’s waited to see the data before making a rash decision, the data is not bad at all and as such isn’t rushing into closing everything and destroying livelihoods and businesses.
Agree about the last point but also a note of caution that with all that cash in the bank, are we assured they’re spending it correctly? Throw a league 2 club with amateur-ish owners with £100m into the premier league doesn’t necessarily mean they will succeed. They may spend £Xm on this £ym on that and before you know it they’re being relegated with £2m in the bank. They had no strategy, for example.
Ncyt may have one but why withhold it? Just go private if being listed is too much to handle.
