Considering the trend of the FTSE 100 today BY is holding up well.... so far..

~2.8m Euro loss would be disappointing if that transpires. Question is, if that does happen, have they got the cover? They had ~2.5m sterling in assets in Final figures in June, if they have liquidated all the non cash assets (reserves) I'm guessing they should just about scrape it? Any thoughts from anyone? Have I over simplified it?

Did someone just buy and sell at a 10% loss? Thats an impatient trader lol

a lot of the UK based FTSE are up ~2% anyway, so its only really a 1-2% rise above general FTSE trending .....a genuine takeover rumour would see this jump 10%.

I'd agree with Aus3009 on this.

grew slightly faster than expected ....se business live web pages. Something like a 0.7% growth on a rolling 3 month basis.

Jk I would say it's in the realms of an expected Q3, so about avg IMO. Q3 in 2015 was 7301 T, that kind of number would get me excited. I'm not worried about the number, it's personally what I expected but I don't think it's fireworks time. More stabilised.

If / when the plantations start producing I would ideally like to see a breakdown in the figures showing how much was plantation and how much was outsourced. Shouldn't be too difficult to do?

I would probably also say, assuming the cyclic stress of the plants is coming to an end, there's still no sign of the plantations producing in those figures.

In fairness the price is somewhat out of their hands. Regarding prod figs it's pretty much what I expected. It's not bad news but not exactly tremendous. I'd probably be reluctant to call this the point of turnaround at present

Auson, use use whatever barrels of oil to make a solar panel, however that solar panel is then generating elec .... eventually you have enough you don't need oil to make your solar panel, you use solar panels!

The national grid was using 25% non carbon generation in 2006, it's now 50%, in another 10 years it will be a lot more. What's the biggy? I personally have a tariff with OVO that's 100% renewable, the more customers that request that the more it will drive it.

Moreover..... What's this got to do with Lloyds lol?

not sure what this has to do with Lloyds, but anyway the UK's coal usage is diminishing FAST with the last power station due to be shut down in 2025.

Currently the UK generates about 1/2 its power from non carbon source, that will only increase.

Billions OF buybacks

RoE here will be raised via dividends and share buy back programmes. A 10% return is pretty glowing.... although it's debated on here about the effectiveness of buybacks.....FWIW I agree with them but the share issue here is SO high it will take billions if buy backs until we see a real impact IMO

Until CPO figs start climbing our biggest near term driver will be the Ayenuon plantations starting to produce. We've been told numerous times that's "imminent", but no sign of it yet. When it happens I expect that to drive annual production over 45k-50k T. If I'm correct the SP should rocket on that. .... and that should all be well before Guitry I would have hoped. But it is all conjecture.

increasing again, doesn't this potentially help the BT Pension deficit as they can just buy some of them risk free? Obvs on the flip side it may mean II's leave stocks like BT to also buy yields, but for me if the pension deficit looks like improving that just gives a value opportunity at BT stock.
