tlf - from what I've read I personally think the BVS intention was to buy the whole lot, keep the Linden homes and then sell on the construction arm. Although having said that, maybe selling on the construction business could be problematic, lets face it, its not generating huge profits.

Reports estimate Bovis as being currently worth 1.2 Billion, GFRD at 550 Million - estimated total value of Bovis if it capture GFRD housing arm as ~2 Billion - net gain of 800 Million. My estimate is that Bovis therefore may have offered something like 800 Million, or scaling the SP (800/550 * 550p) = roughly 800p....although as offer was rejected, they may have offered less, say 700 - 750p.

This has nothing to do with GFRD per se, it's almost all Brexit ... believe me, if this turns into a no deal scenario, this and all UK based stocks will go a lot lower.

Mind you I'll personally be more concerned about my livelihood than investments at that point.

yep Brexit calamity kicking off again has knocked a lot of shares today.

Just a bit of profit taking I think.... it did go up 15% in a day, so inevitable really. Let's just hope buyers get traction again. I'd be happy to see it stabilise over 600p for a day or two.

the £38m is the same as the £30-40m write down estimate already announced, basically its towards the top end of the estimate. See above article.

You would hope nothing's been leaked yet, so no one should be any the wiser as to what's going to be stated... you would hope. If so, it's market jitters and nerves rather than a pre-emptive signal.

Does imply if it goes badly tomorrow this could sink, but also implies a large amount of negativity built in, so could also bounce if it's not too bad. I've been in here long enough to expect the worst though lol.

I very nearly made the same comment DB. To be fair certain things like prod volumes which look seasonal, and CPO price are somewhat out of the BoD's hands, however there have been a number of occasions where the BoD have looked poor.
