Londoner7 I could be way off here - but my take on the Queensferry is GFRD were hoping to reduce their financial hit by taking a court action against the council (not sure what about), it failed and consequently they have had to finally cave in on the 40m hit. But like I say I could be way off, and that's just my personal take on some articles ive read. I think, if that is the case im not worried about further financial hits from Queensferry - but they are taking a further court action for the Aberdeen bypass (specifically about utility companies being responsible for pipework alterations)......if that fails, are we going to see a further hit to that project? I hope not!

Anyway, nice to see 570p being tested and 560p seemingly broken.

also they have rights to a total of 2363 Ha (my understanding is this is the Aboisso / Bonua totals), so attacking it from the other extreme and assume the full 20T of FFB / Ha, that would give 47,200T FFB from plantation, and a total of 10600T CPO (or another 9,000T of CPO from where we are currently at assuming 1500 T CPO / year from plantations in todays figs). That's fairly good growth potential right there, never mind Guitry / cashews. Get the fertilizer out ;o)

would really like to see these Abiosso plantations fully planted soon, then kick off Guitry in earnest. Just no idea what the planting rates are.

Apologies folks..... I've misinterpreted a number. It's 20T of FFB per hectare from plantation, not CPO! Assuming 17T based on 1886 hectares that's 32kT FFB, which by my reckoning equals about 7500T per annum we should expect when mature..... I understand were currently getting about 1500T ish..

Following on from my posts the other day, they could give us ETA's for when the plantations will be fully planted, or if not discrete milestones for planting updates. Also an explanation for date estimates from Dr Benjamin Adon when we will start seeing meaningful production from the plantations, surely it's imminent... if not.explanations of why not.

Unfortunately FK I think any voicing of such sentiment by the BOD will be taken with a pinch of salt... seen as all mouth no trousers. The only way I see the BOD showing this is recovering is prod figs. I think anything over 12,500T at Q2 would say more about recovery than any talk from the BOD. But as JK.says that leaves us waiting with the SP being decimated in the mean time.

Heavy bounce backwards off 560p resistance today.

Short positions increased to 2.7% (as its 3 days out of date im assuming that happened on Friday).. Be interesting to see what happened after the 5% bounce on Monday, wonder if it rinsed any of them out?

imo it's been shown that when the business strategy works it's fine.... but it doesn't work all the time, and when it goes south it can cause calamity. Just significantly reduce the construction exposure IMO and be ultra selective about contracts. I would personally over egg each bid, if they don't get the contracts then just concentrate on housing. Bwtfdik

I think it is true GFRD have used the construction cash flow to fund Linden homes expansion, which is fine without exceptionals.... but it's frankly plainly untenable after recent years.
