Having bought in Jul 2024 on the back of wide praise for the management team and prospects, I've sustained a 44% loss. We seem to have reached a gloomy plateau. Pondering whether to exit fully now or stay in and hope for the best.

Davwal I can certainly believe it. Most institutions won't invest here now - too risky, not until there's considerably more evidence than now of large, economically retrievable petroleum reserves. If that appears soon, expect a sustained share price rise.

I'm not in the slightest bit interested in Peakdread's or anyone else's views on Trump or any other aspect of politics, first because I'm a sentient adult who thinks for himself and second, a personal investment website is the last place I'd look for political insights.

It's not a dog. This board saved the company - and possibly shareholders a lot of money though we must wait to test that theory - by acquiring non-operating assets elsewhere in the US to fund the far riskier but potentially far more rewarding Paradox field, pretty much then an unknown quantity. They don't have forever, but let's at least credit management with that.

A offputting feature of several AIM companies is boards spewing out non-stories to appease posters and support share prices. Most such businesses fail through unfulfilled expectations. I'm glad this board works at its own pace and respects its regulatory obligations on timely market updates.

Hi Telford, I may be wrong but I believe prices have their own logic, momentum and timing, often unrelated to a company's actual performance. Recognition can come (as a share price rise or something else) like a bolt from the blue, months after a big success. This applies particularly to hot stocks such as speculative drillers. I would imagine the institutions that drive long-term share price shifts start investing when they see impressive, consistent, short- and long-term revenues.

You don't say where you saw it but in an Aus context it would be the Northern Territory.

Good points, Strangy, but who knows? As a long-term holder I lost 90% but Graham Reid hasn't put a foot wrong since taking the helm of what was a mess.
