With over 15 mill shares or £3m traded in a day, that was about a record in my time. I can only guesstimate just over £600k of declared Buys, so as the remainder have probably been snapped up by various IIs, the sp has remained the same which is a show of solidarity in my view. Once we get an accepted and reliable definition of further likely off-loading by LOG, we might take another view of the prospects for this sp?

butd - I clearly said a heads up on RESULTS DUE! But go on splitting hairs if it pleases you!

Must be one of those G-Techs share ideas, as you say - all Sells being readily picked up by probably an II I would say, as the sp has held up remarkably well.

butd - RNS clearly states rig now moved on with no hitches and results "undergoing analysis" etc.? Just confirmation, but no harm in that!

A lot of them are Sells at the bottom line 19.5, and I cannot believe that the lumpy ones are PI trades. As gator posts, the LOG factor is acting as a sea-anchor on the sp - but this is still holding up in spite of that, and I cannot go with the downward drift forecast of butd with so many positives still to come. We had confirmation of the Bond and a heads up on Harvey results due in today's RNS, so what's not to like? Note how the communications have improved with so much positivity to report!

'gator - good post and pleased to see that you concur with my point about more impact required on the PR front. A speciality agency should be on first name terms with all the important financial press and media, and there is a great story to tell here with the re-generation of gas supply from the SNS and more specifically to the funding breakthrough at IOG. Ticking all your points!

of the day is a solid £50k at 20.09, and if this sets the tone I can see the Bid making 20p by the close of play.

scotty! Volume down today, but still some lumpy Buys and very few Sells sent us to the 20p milestone, with a little top-up on the way. We have impetus before good news and cannot see much of a retrace happening now imho.

Lombard and other insts happy to pick up LOG shares at current rates no doubt, and a further sign of confidence. Wide spread at present with 19.6 to Buy and 19.05 to Sell, so we will get some misreads on here.

My HL chart records just ONE million share trade, and the total numbers for the day are close on 9 million shares traded, with a fair bit of profit taking at the end.

In case anyone is wondering why we gained 0.50p with all that red on the board, the two million share trades were obviously Buys as they sent the graph vertically upwards at the time, also the 826k "unknown" likewise a Buy at 19.25. Another lively day with over 5mill shares traded and we are on the move with more positive news to come soon.

Marie - you are right, they are not! Another one where the spread tells a wrong story. As you can still buy at 18.68, the heavy ones at 18.71 are obviously Buys, but the middle line is 18.75, so they are wrongly recorded - which is misleading.

Many thanks for the link dinny - an excellent and comprehensive presentation by Hockey, with detailed graph references on all aspects of the project, and supreme confidence in planned funding and adherence to declared timelines (take note Mr. Mayes! ). All questions from the floor answered without notes and with assurance - very impressive and a must view for all posters. Was anyone on the board present? Would not be a bit surprised if today's SP lift was continued tomorrow. GLA

'gator - for me your post says it all! No exaggerations, no sky blue thinking - just pure facts and without the reaction to current SP that any reasonable mind would expect. On the link to the Oil Capital Conference, under the IOG reference, Robin Mayes states "I think there is some way to go here and my instincts tell it will take longer and cost more than they think." Well, sorry Robin - but I trust old WB's instincts a lot more than yours, and if it takes a few more £mill to get there, shouldn't be a real problem! I would be interested to see a reaction to this negative slant from our regular tech posters such as Sailor and GGIS - meanwhile I trust that Hockey's presentation today will blow away Mayes' unfounded doubts. One criticism of IOG management - they have a PR agency who should be doing an awful lot better to get this share much more visibility in the business press and media with the likes of Questor in the DT etc. etc. I am having a free go on their (and our) behalf with a senior writer on that paper to follow up his recent article on the re-generation of the North Sea East Coat ports regarding wind farms. How about the exciting resurgence of gas extraction in the SNS??

'gator and ctw - very interesting points made by both and I have to agree with your observations on the mysteries of AIM investment . Generally true I am sure, and the disillusionment that has recently followed for those who have watched their investment pots dwindle through mismanagement and failure to realise start-up promise through lack of funding, poor timing etc. etc. But - this is IOG, and it is very hard to take that now, with all the key issues resolved and above all the crucial one of funding by a blue chip partner plus strong backing from reliable institutional investors - we are now at approximately half the SP of one year ago! These de-risking milestones are facts - not just opinion - and they are available to investors and MMs alike. Add on the promise of a favourable result from the early results of drilling at Harvey, it would be no real surprise if we were riding around the 60p marker already forecasted by the broker? We are anticipating more positives later this month such as FID and full confirmation of the CalE contract, plus more detailed results from Harvey - so it will be of further interest to see how the market re-acts this time.

gator - agree with all of that. We have had to lower our sights on the long term SP target, but at least we can feel more relaxed about the funding aspect - particularly with such a reliable farm-out partner in place. It will be fascinating now to observe the gas-tech boys get on with job of setting up first extraction of gas from the wealth of resources beneath the SNS.

Great News - and I can't help feeling that the influence of good old WB has helped this swiftly into place - plus the extra £30m to come. We had a very sticky patch, so lets give the BOD a pat on the back for toughing it out and getting us to this virtually de-risked position, with lots of positives yet to come. Also all fellow LTHs - well done for persistence and patience. You need it in spades on this AIM market!

for me at these levels. Both "unknown" recent trades at 17.75 are both Buys. Persistent LOG type Sells are holding this down to a definite buying opportunity in my view.

is causing trades to be misread by LSE. It is currently 18.15 to Buy in modest quantity, and 17.65 to Sell - so all trades are being recorded as Sells.

Looks that way I agree, and had a positive effect on the subsequent trades at smaller levels.
