gator - your TXP investment story is a model of progressive and successful pursuit - and there is no way that you can doubt your own "better judgement". I have chased IOG in a similar way, but with nothing like your success. I always enjoy your posts which are invariably measured and incisive - and hope that your persistence pays off in spectacular fashion in 2021. It just has to be a better year for all concerned!

Dunder - I posted some time ago about the original estimates on well resources not being enough to warrant over-excitement - as in the case of Harvey - and have merely requested for these resources to be "proven". The assumptions on size of resource are not peculiar to IOG. We had similar unsubstantiated figures flying around in the skirmish over Deltic, and as a result, I was pleased to see that IOG did not adjust their bid upwards in spite of the scorn heaped on this BOD by the big Delt fans. As you advise, I will always dmor!

Good points Just, and additional proven resource is exactly what we need. The Log move upwards has to have some significance - the obvious conclusion being that administrators have great confidence in an sp rise before any cashing in on an orderly dispersal on behalf of bondholders.

Doesn't the science say that natural gas is far less damaging than oil in terms of carbon emissions, and is readily transferable from blue to green gas by hydrogen introduction? Having taken on board your gas volumes well by well, I would still express the need to look long and hard for the acquisition of more viable resources with ready access to the pipeline - with the obvious backing of CalE. Do they exist? And if so, are they under the control of other exploration outfits such as Deltic?

As we all agree, the RNS relating to well re-assessment is not the greatest news, but not seriously damaging in the overall scheme of things. It emphasises the need for a more reserved view and reaction to it when the resources in these old wells are just estimates before the correction is given - either up or down - by a reliable drilling research programme. As mole indicates, the need is now to identify properly quantifiable additional location resources to feed a waiting pipeline, either by acquisition or company takeovers with CalE backing - such as the recently aborted bid for Deltic. This was never going to happen whilst the figure offered was just as derisive as the RRE offer made last year for IOG. It is certainly a moment for the BOD to focus their attention on driving forward with Phase 1. I am not so fussed by the TR1, as we already knew the situation with the LOG holding and there is no compunction for the administrators to move into a dispersal operation until we get to a considerable rise in sp. There will certainly be no toys thrown out of this particular pram.

Price holding is a good sign for the solidarity of the stock - and all buys today at modest volume, currently 13.625 to Buy.

to normal quiet trading today with scope for Buys at 13.44 an attractive level for newcomers?

mole - that "nip up in price to 15p to support a sell of 5m or 10m" would not be construed as manipulation I suppose? No heavy bombs so far today, but a £26k sell plus a double sell for £35k are certainly bigger than our recent tranquil spell and not really typical of normal PI cashing-in on this share. But still short of my own target holding - so the co-incidence of available funds and dips in the sp are the key to this strategy.

trellis - once again agree with most of what you say, and thanks to your experience with LOM for your observations on their potential involvement with recent trades. Although you say that defining the nature of the trades is guesswork, there is such a thing as intelligent guesswork - where examination of the trading pattern on the London Stock Exchange can throw up rather obvious answers that are wrongly interpreted on this particular board. This is why I do the occasional round-up of the day for the benefit, I hope, of fellow PIs. For example, already today the 13.53p trades on the early spread are wrongly recorded as Sells - they are Buys and I have the personal evidence on this one!

no problem butd - you have far superior knowledge of the off-market trading behaviour than myself, and my reaction was simple opportunism to an unexpected buying opening. Since kistos was launched only days ago with a charging sp, duster may have a point that AA is putting a stake in the ground with further accumulation in mind once more LOG stock is released. If so, I would expect a period of some volatility ahead.

mole - seems a plausible theory for the cause of sudden heavy sells - particularly the LOG admin requirement for cash, which was bound to start sometime. Just to tidy up the lack of accurate trade readings on this board - there were 14 trades in total with 10.65m Sells, and a response in late trading for 137.2k Buys, mostly at 13.53p. Two small top-ups for me when the unexpected dip occurred - but caution maybe the best policy for now as further lumpy sells could well be in the pipeline?

It certainly has affected the market price so I have topped up at 13.8 (not a sell!) Further heavy Sells would make me wrong, but I regard current level as another buying opportunity.

Another 5m Sell at 12.9p! Is this an offload by your friend Lom trellis?
