gator - I made the same point about takeover prospects and the power and presence of BH some time ago, and glad to see that you agree. Today's RNS provides further evidence of working progress in the SNS, and should give the market further confidence in this company's reliability on sticking to declared timelines - especially under Covid restrictions for over a year now. Also like your SP predictions and the likely progression - all very feasible IMHO.

Not surprised to see that it is our old friends Lombard Odier, disposing of 4.62% of the share capital, and we will soon see who has picked them up. Obviously they need to satisfy their fund investors, and have made a nice profit to do so. But good news that they are readily accommodated by longer term investors.

£9m worth and recorded late ctw, and more off book II activity. We look certain to get another tick-up tomorrow IMHO.

viti - welcome back to the board, and always good to read your views. One recurrent theme in many posts is the reference to takeover possibility - and whilst there is nothing to stop bid(s) being mounted, I find it difficult to believe that BH - now firmly on board and fully aware of the potential here - would countenance anything short of a proper valuation. Basically, they have the funds to repel all boarders, and appear to be fully committed to chasing their own investment in this exciting project as it approaches fruition. All IMHO of course!

gator - very much in line with your mid and long term assessments of IOG and SP movements, based as ever on viable and independent evidence. Would not say however that we are "off the radar" completely, just undergoing a quiet patch after a raft of positives earlier in the month. April is already way ahead in terms of trading numbers, and looks set to beat the total of trades in Q1 of this year, whilst SP has advanced some 35% in the same period. Have also noted that in spite of some profit taking just recently, the MMs have steadfastly held the Bid in anticipation of the next level coming soon perhaps? And, unusually for this share, dummy Sells for substantial numbers have been accommodated with ease at the bottom spread price. We get some seriously useful Rig movement and Drilling news from sailor and GG, and these advances in the completion of Phase 1 have doubtless contributed to the new confidence from the market. Patience comes a lot easier when you perceive the solid progress now being made by this company towards a game-changing milestone. GLA

gator - I am alongside the point in your last paragraph, and with a smooth transition into regular gas supply to the grid, have a feeling that sensible and viable acquisition will more likely be the agenda rather than seeking bids for the company - as mooted by some posters on this board. The availability of that cheque book will be the telling factor!

Good link lemming, and interesting to read CalE aspects. Slight lull after yesterday's buying roll, and considering all the positivity, a good opportunity IMHO for a top-up at around 21.50 with so little downside here.

gator - I do agree in principle with the basis of your points, especially the manipulation angle by MMs. All these start-up and exploration companies in the O & G sector face tricky moments through funding or regulation confirmation of resources, which affects SP and market perception - and these are times when, as you point out in your example, IIs and MMs exert unwanted influence. My point was that, after a lengthy fallow period in the IOG story, the working progress news which would possibly never have happened without the financial backing of a BH company, has finally been recognised and acted upon by a raft of new PIs. Some call them the "herd" - but since the group contain a lot of canny investors too, that is a tad disrespectful in my view. Improved PR from the Board with regular updates has been one of my hobby horses - but a combination of these factors has certainly made a difference to our radar presence. Also felt that it was worth pointing out that one of your "bete noirs" LOM had recently disposed of large chunks of their holding without any apparent influence on a rising SP. You are a long-term stalwart in this share with the accompanying experience, and I find that an exchange of views is always stimulating and fruitful. BOL gator!

Significant milestone passed with the spudding of Elgood, and my congratulations to all the IOG subsea team for their efficiency and spot-on timekeeping. Response from the market as expected today, and we are widening our fan base all the time. See from RNS2 that Lombard have disposed of a further 5 million shares which has been comfortably soaked up by a fellow ii - but the more influential pressure on the SP is being exerted by PIs. GLA

Another busy day with nearly 2m shares traded, and persistent buys at the top of the spread towards the Bell. Another tick up due on Monday opening, with a lot more interest here from heavier PI traders. If a bid comes I hope it is later rather than sooner as we are still topping up!

Thanks Sailor - keep the offshore reports coming in. Highly valuable information for we landlubbers! Tick up progressing as predicted, and think that duster's forecast of 25p by the end of April could well be accurate.

heavy trading day with 61 trades and 2.3m shares including some weighty off-market deals at the neutral price. Looks due for another tick-up tomorrow before some working reports from the rigs next week. GLA!

Could sell 50k for 18.51 (but won't!) so this is due another tickup before the Bell. The chunky "neutrals" recorded earlier were obviously Buys.

edgar - its been said before but this is not really a share for knee-jerkers or day traders. Also Broker forecasts when they bother to do detailed research are often akin to wetting one's finger in the wind. Crucial difference here in current trading patterns is the increased volume in line with tangible working progress, narrower spreads and the response of Buyers to those who decide to take profits. In line with most LTHs I am very happy to play the long game with so little downside here IMHO.

Good move GG - keeps any profit away from the taxman. I need to do something similar very soon as I used up my ISA allowance a while ago and have been trading on the Fund and Share account. As we get more news of the rig tow and well connection - supplied by your goodself and Sailor - we should have a week with steady rises IMHO.

LTHs and all investors are blessed here with dual commentary from two very experienced O & G mariners. I am finding it a deal more fascinating than watching the other boat race on Sunday!

Nice running commentary from GG and Sailor on the rig tow voyage and exciting to follow the connection with Elgood over the next few days. Meantime we had a very lively start to Q2 on the market and the new gang of buyers are no April fools. Institutions transferring and some 50 trades turning over 1.2m shares with another nice tick-up on the day. New financial year begins on Tuesday and the response from ISA punters will be interesting as more positive news rolls out.

Great to get a running commentary on the sea-breaking news of rig voyage from Sailor and GG! All very exciting and crucial to the engineering programme at IOG. Meanwhile, we are ticking along very nicely on the market - and as I have said before, there is hardly any downside on the share price for the near future, and only pluses for the longer term. With the new financial year on the horizon, be prepared for some serious boot filling ahead!
