thanks for info on movements toro & GG. Busier trading day today, and to clear up further confusion on this board, there were 703k shares traded with 480k definite Buys, 162k Sells, with 60k difficult to define. We should be getting a re-rating in the vnf!

denis - the display of trades on this board is thoroughly misleading - as usual. Actual totals for today are 63.4k Sells and 194.5k Buys. It can be very off-putting for potential new investors, as it is nearly always a negative interpretation.

Thanks GG - nice to see things moving on quickly. Narrow spread returns this morning, with Buys at 19.74 Sells at 19.50 - all reported as Sells of course!!

Yes Monkeys - very interesting article by Evans-Pritchard who is usually on the money. Gas prices, already at a high, set to go through the roof for Europe in general as Putin turns the screw on the crucial Russian supply chain as winter approaches. Should put us in a very strong position once resources are confirmed and we stepondegas for first delivery. Come on BOD, time is a-wasting!

stepped in today to halt the slide, and although marked as Sells, any trade above 19.79 was actually a Buy - totalling around 251k shares. Not great volume, but a step in the right direction.

gator - agree with all you say regarding the frustrations we LTHs have experienced, and am on the same page regarding the tone of RNS announcements. I would say that a wee bit of PR nous has been missing - especially frustrating when you have worked in that discipline. With a raft of good news scheduled to come for the remainder of this year at least, let's hope that is angled for best effect on behalf of consistently supportive investors.

Good points mole, and agree that the emphasis of the RNS was wrong and helped to damage the SP. Would it be normal practice to issue any details of contracts on gas futures, once agreed? An RNS on the subject would certainly assist a rebound.

monkeys thanks for the ref to Malcy who gives a fair review of the RNS, pointing out that the valuation of gas resource at Elgood, considering forward winter gas prices, is in excess of original estimates - and that the knock on SP is considerably overdone. Blythe well appears to be a lot less challenging in terms of the drilling and extraction processes. More from the technical team would be interesting?

I am afraid that sainthood for this old punter is a long way off duster! Just trying to call time on those buffalo galloping towards the cliff edge. You need to look at all the angles with investments like this one - and once you have evaluated the resource, ask yourself do you trust the BOD and their timescale forecasts? Remember that a large part of their re-imbursement is tied up with the success of the project and the resultant impact on the SP. It has risk for them and us PIs - so as the master chef said ......."if you don't like the heat, the kitchen is no place for you..."

Frankly trust, if every little bump in the road means you throw all your toys out the pram, you should not be investing in the first place in O&G development companies such as this one. The technically educated posters on this board have been at pains to explain the inherent difficulties of subsea gas extraction, and in the scheme of things, this setback at Elgood is a comparitively minor one. Try and focus on the bigger picture and all the many positives, and exercise some more patience rather than joining the short sighted lemmings.

michael - have done likewise for 5k @ 20.38p. Will show as a Sell, and I am correcting the trade definitions on a regular basis on this board. Hoping we have touched a bottom level for SP and that a realistic valuation of this share kicks in.

stublue - your report from the pit face rather brings the practical realities back into focus, and should be compulsory reading for all IOG investors. Fully agree with your view on this being a top-up opportunity.

well pinpointed dinsalas and viti. This is the usual market over-reaction with this share when the news is slightly short of top expectation - with an unseemly rush to the exit by the twitchy brigade, and a surprise buying opportunity imho.

Not the news we either expected or wanted, with the simple bottom line being less volume of gas but higher flow rates at Elgood - meaning that we can extract it more quickly? The "mechanical issues" experienced at Elgood and subsequent delay will be better mastered at Blythe, where the concentration now lies. On the plus side, it looks like the soaring gas prices for the winter ahead may have saved our bacon - and I have just topped up at 21.3p as a show of faith.

With Elgood appearing to be ready and not overly delayed, the RNS will make good reading, as will any news of Gas futures agreed. Approaching our most vital stages of development for the remainder of Q3 - so expect all holders will be monitoring the news. GLA!

For the marine watchers - which well would be the likeliest for tapping when first gas is commissioned?

Thanks for the link npm. Lombard, as predicted, only interested in shorter term profits on investment - but their off-sells have been readily absorbed by more asset management minded outfits. Explains a lot of the recent off-market activity and gives us a better spread of institutional investment. But - would any of these be potential bidders in the near term?

Narrow spread again now with 23.54p to Buy. Considering the imminent news, this looks a very attractive level to me?
