Oilies and Gassies may find this stuff quite straightforward - but it is a source of fascination to landlubbers such as myself - and posts like Sailor's regular updates and detailed description of working practice are invaluable to serious investors here. On this front I would totally agree that the BOD deserve congratulations - and it will be interesting if they now forecast a more definitive date for first gas. I am personally relaxed with GG's December notion - anything sooner being a bonus in these times of volatile priceing - and I intend to stay with a long stretch of product supply and income reception to see this SP reach its proper level.

edgar - if funds were available I would be following you in too! With that average I would say you can afford yourself a little chuckle. Twill be interesting to see the buyer of the lumpy Institutional trade - are we assuming that LOG must be the seller?

gator - not sure about the ambitions of Premier Milton here, but they do not appear to behave historically in the same way as Lombard, so they could be here for the longer term. We have been asking for that TR-1 which is now overdue after a week of activity on the II front. We are at an attractive buying price as a result imho.

All good points that go some way to explaining the present correction to sp - and a particularly astute reference by prim to the strong arm tactics of Putin regarding his pipeline. Current gas prices are obviously on an unsustainable spike - but will still maintain a high level through the winter according to all the expert forecasting. I have been critical in the past of IOG's poor PR performance - and once again an opportunity to wave the company flag has been missed. As the shortage and price of natural gas has become an item for mainstream media and national debate, and reading such lines as "reduced supply from the North Sea gas industry" - where is the reference to a UK company out there who are on the cusp of delivering much needed product to the nation?? You need to be nimble and light footed in the PR game and instantly pro-active when the opportunities arise. A very obvious opening missed I am afraid!

GG - no panic at all - just Lombard doing what they always do, invest at the bottom and take the profit when it meets a certain level. Anything they wish to discard will be snapped up anyway by other IIs. There is very strong evidence of a raft of new investors, and I would suggest that some of these are substantial and not of the twitchy variety. They see the picture very clearly and it is not just first gas they are looking towards - more likely first dividend. Anyone care to date that one?

proper roller-coaster day and tracking throughout I would estimate around 2m shares bought, which makes the tailing off rather surprising at the end. We remain at a very seductive buying price for the big hitters - especially considering the unprecedented rise in gas prices - so expect some more early action when the market opens tomorrow!

beginning to liven up again with today's true aggregates more like 500k Buys and 150k Sells with 29.55 being paid on the bid. With further buying interest expected at these rates, we should be leaving 30p behind very soon imho.

gator, we are old compadres on this board, but with no claim to be a market specialist, I would agree with MCH in the view that the current correction in price is down to those who feel compelled to take acceptable profits in the short term, whatever the spec of the company concerned. Many investors work to the over-riding rule of cashing out when their target figure of say 5-10% is attained - especially within a week or so! I think we are different, and with all the company information and unfolding story fully digested, I would suggest that your glass ceiling will be broken once again in very short order. It's a Buy for me, and pleasantly surprised at the Offer price.

GG - all LTHs and current investors owe you a debt of thanks for the string of enlightening posts - not just now when the action is livening up, but also during the darker days when the regular information on your board helped me to keep the faith and continue investing in the long term project IOG. We are now on the brink of First Gas delivery time - and your detailed estimates of flow rates, work programme, and projected income stream provide yet more education and confidence.

MCH - congrats on that post, sums it all up extremely well from an investment viewpoint. I have a very similar approach, and will be adding to my LTH given the opportunities and available funds. MMs can play their games, but the IOG bottom line remains the same, so entry and exit moments do come down to individual circumstances and judgement. GLA

I think I get all of that max, but a number of posters on here will always blame the MMs for playing games, so just try to put the book straight on occasions. Another thing we have witnessed this afternoon is our old friends Lombard discarding nearly 900k shares at a nice profit on the placing and on their earlier holdings - obviously the main factor in the late correction on sp I would say.

It does toro - and since your maths look spot on to me, I have to concur with your conclusions. Basically we are on the brink of a raft of positives with virtually zero downside.

that's right max - but you can soon find out if it is accurate or not with some dummy trades, and have been doing this on this board for a considerable time. Then you can act either way based on your own judgement. I personally regard this session as a correction before we head northwards again.

at present is warping the interpretation of trades - true figures are 32.15 Bid 32.4 Offer, so much narrower than the 2p gap posted here. I still make this a Buy at these rates and will act accordingly.

I leave the technical interpretations to those far better qualified, such as GG, Sailor et al - but the reservoir quantification looks right up to expectations, and the hiccups well solved by technology. City boys had a 3 day bonanza mole, very true, but the effect has been catching and we are now looking at a whole new raft of investors with many more to come. Onwards and Upwards!

We are having the biggest trading day on this board for a very long time, and even more important than volume in my view is the large number of trades. September as a month will now exceed the previous record of trade numbers in a month - all hugely encouraging as the high price of gas seems sure to stay with us for some time.
